In spite of some ongoing restoration work, the hotel was absolutely perfect. The service was excellent and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The lift is a bit small if you’re carrying a lot of luggage, but it does the job. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was really good, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. The location is ideal — around 1–2 km from the city centre, surrounded by shops and restaurants. I’d totally recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Brussels.
The hotel has a great location, spacious rooms, a good breakfast, and genuinely friendly staff. Water pressure in the shower is excellent and check-in was smooth. Unfortunately, comfort and design let it down. Rooms are overheated with no way to regulate temperature, and windows can’t be opened. Furnishings feel random, the bathroom is stuck in the 1980s, and the shower head is worn out. Beds are uncomfortable—two twins pushed together with only a cover over the gap. Service details were disappointing: housekeeping took my spare room key, the tiny water bottle was never replenished, and the room service QR code doesn’t work without watching ads. The restaurant closes at 21:30 and the bar at 23:00, with no late-night food nearby. Overall: fine for location and breakfast, but not for comfort or modern amenities.
Affordable, nice hotel with spacious rooms. Our “double” bed was just two singles put together, which was not optimal. But still a good hotel.
Location was great, staff were wonderful, gave some excellent restaurant recommendations (Thanks Pierre!) Not sure what an earlier reviewer was on about, but there were many restaurants, some small supermarkets in the area, excellent laundromat a couple of blocks away. The downside was the room. Whilst it was big, bed was huge and comfortable; bathroom was roomy with a good walk in shower and decent water pressure, the wooden floors were noisy and quite dirty. Our feet were filthy if we walked around barefooted. Also very noisy from the elephant clomping around upstairs till all hours. Big window, but we couldn't open because of the constant sewerage smell and mosquitos. The room became really hot even though it was mid October. Due to our location next to construction, we were woken each morning to workers on scaffolding next to our window or the delicate sound of scaffolding being tossed around. We didn't eat in the hotel as we don't eat enough to justify the cost of a buffet breakfast. Booked directly through Wyndham, which said payment taken at time of booking. We arrived thinking we had paid (no, I hadn't checked payment had been taken.....staff handled my anger and confusion gracefully too!), to find this property doesn't take payment until arrival. Beware of this, luckily we were able to transfer funds to pay the bill. Not quite in the same class as other Wyndham properties we'd used. I'm struggling to recommend, but at the same time it had a lot going for it!
One of the worst travel experiences. The floor is so nasty that my feet got itchy stepping on it right away, and there was no slippers in the room. There are always noises in the night from somewhere, it sounds like laundry machine. In one evening, the hot water stopped, and the front desk called me at 3am to tell me that the hot water is ready. 3am? Seriously? The breakfast is mediocre. The whole room makes me dizzy. Really bad energy. So after all these horrible experience, I told the front desk I would like to check out earlier, and the male guy said “of course not! What do you want? Huh?” I felt extremely humiliated. What a great hospitality.
