Juztin Png★★★★★4 months agoWe stayed one night at The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center during our US road trip, and it turned out to be a great choice.
The hotel lobby is nice, spacious, and welcoming. There’s even a souvenir shop right at the lobby area that sells not just souvenirs, but also a good range of beverages and tidbits — very convenient if you need something quick without stepping out. The reception staff were professional and friendly, and check-in was smooth and efficient. Valet parking is available as well, which makes things easy for road trippers like us.
The location is excellent. One of the best features is that the hotel links directly to a small shopping mall from the lobby. The mall has a good range of restaurants and shops to browse, making it very convenient for meals and casual shopping without having to travel far. That direct access is definitely a nice touch.
Our room was big and spacious, with a comfortable and cozy bed that gave us a good night’s rest after a long drive. The bathroom was well maintained and functional. The only small downside is that the bathtub is a little shallow, so it’s slightly difficult to enjoy a proper deep soak.
The gym is truly impressive — easily one of the better equipped hotel gyms we’ve seen. There’s a good range of cardio machines, and we didn’t have to wait to use any equipment. The weight and machine area is big and spacious, with a solid variety of machines covering different muscle groups. For those who care about keeping up with workouts while traveling, this gym definitely delivers. The gym floor also connects to an outdoor heated pool, and there’s a small indoor soak pool as well — a nice bonus.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to Kansas City. Great location, good facilities, and a comfortable experience from start to finish.
Scotty H★★★★★a month ago⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service! Delaney Saved My 2-Week Business Trip**
I recently wrapped up a two-week business trip at The Westin Kansas City, and I can say without understatement that had it not been for **the incredible Ms. Delaney Hoppes**, my stay would have been an absolute disaster.
Upon my initial check in, a manager named Rita failed to annotate my stay notes with vital, pertinent billing information. This oversight created a massive headache regarding my corporate expenses. Thankfully, Delaney stepped in. She is a stellar and outstanding pillar of the Westin workforce. She went above and beyond to fix my folio not just once, but twice, handling the situation with grace, urgency, and absolute professionalism.
When leadership failed to do the basic administrative groundwork, Delaney carried the weight of the department and salvaged the hotel's reputation. She is the singular reason I will even consider the Westin for my future business travel.
Westin Management: Delaney is a massive asset to your property. Please ensure she gets the recognition, praise, and promotion she clearly deserves!
And please ,save your standard " We hope to see you in the future" statement. just do better because unless you're offering a compensatory night or two, I'm not interested . Simply recognize Ms. Hoppes, and the team that service the rooms everyday for their effort ,that was immensely appreciated.
Mary Homewood★★★★★3 weeks agoFancy a bit snooty, why are you asking, nothing is posted, that's why im asking... im not the only one who didn't know the pool was on the 5th floor and closed at 10:00 i told 5 people myself. You had to self learn that you could visit your friends on other floors without getting stuck. I had to take the pizza guy back to the lobby.I still don't know if they served food in the bar, had room service, etc.. I woke up at 6 to find out I missed a active tornado warning at 2am! No evacuation or anything too weird
Rooms were nice
Beds were nice
I came down with noroviris the next day not sure if it is related or not i did report it to the ER I visited.
Mallory Cyr★★★★★a month agoDefinitely a solid three star experience.
The location is prime, and it’s great to be able to walk to stores and food places without leaving the building. It definitely works as a conference space
Staff was generally kind and accommodating- HUGe kudos to Jeffrey in the bar who gets five stars and needs a raise. He made our last night so special and was very aware of the cocktail menu, providing recommendations
HOWEVER- for something that calls itself a luxury establishment, attention must be paid. The rooms are in SERIOUS need of updating and a deep clean. My colleague had roaches in his room and I had a weird slime mold growing behind the trash can, even though housekeeping came it’s clear everything is very surface level.
I would also recommend revisiting the policies for when guests receive deliveries. I have no idea where customer service went in the last few years but I received a very important delivery of medical supplies and the staff could not only not find it but I was not notified and nobody offered to bring it to my room, once it was finally found, a second delivery had already been issued and we were told the “fee would be waived” when it should’ve been found the first time.
There is definitely room for improvement to take this place to the next level. When I told the front desk about the mold, they offered for me to change rooms but since I was leaving the next morning, didn’t want the hassle but there was no apology or any offer of anything else for my troubles as a bonvoy member
I may stay here again if there’s a work event but I will inspect the rooms closely and expect better as the area is booming
C C★★★★★3 months agoGreat location, easy access to Union station, museum, etc and street car is right across the street to get to city market and country club plaza.
Phenomenal customer service Every time I interact with Alissa and Kasey! They are always so welcoming, always greet me with a great smile, and are very resourceful. These two are top tier!
Rooms: are spacious, clean, comfortable beds, the stand up shower great, the bath tubs: the water doesn't empty from the tub so easily.
Food: Great breakfast options, esp the French toast. Snack: queso dip with chips are a good snack.
Gym and pool amenities are also nice, various options for gym equipment.
Ambiance: Love the waterfall plant wall on the 2nd floor, this is my favorite place of the hotel.
Housekeeping staff and maintenance have also been wonderful! One of the front desk staff could use some improvement in customer service however I can't let one bad apple ruin it.
Thanks again for such a wonderful stay, Kasey and Alissa are true gems!!!
