Santiago Canyon College is a public community college in Orange, California, home to the Hawks. The school's teams compete in the Orange Empire Conference, part of the California Community College Athletics Association. The $20 million Athletics and Aquatics Complex, which was designed by Irvine-based The Austin Company, officially opened to students and the community in January 2013. The new facility was made possible through Measure E, a $337 million general obligation bond approved by voters in 2002 to renovate existing campus buildings and construct new classroom facilities throughout the college district. The SCC Gym has a seating capacity of 2,500 with collegiate-sized 3 basketball courts. It has hosted past events that include the DII Tip-Off Classic and USA Volleyball National Team matches. Also on campus is a 25-meter pool for water-polo matches.

Santiago Canyon College is an incredible place to go if you’re looking to make a real change. They offer a huge variety of programs, and whether you are trying to switch careers, get your life in order, or just want to take a few classes to learn something new, they have everything you could possibly need. As long as you aren’t planning on being a lifetime student, I highly recommend coming through and trying out one of their programs. One of the biggest highlights of the experience here is the counseling department. The counselors at SCC are truly awesome and go above and beyond to assist you with every step of the process. They don’t just point you toward a random set of classes; they actually take the time to listen to your goals and help you map out a clear, manageable path to reach them. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by the transfer process or just aren't sure which major fits your interests, they provide the guidance and support needed to keep you on track. The environment at SCC is supportive and geared toward student success. Between the range of courses and the professional staff who genuinely care about your progress, it’s a great community for anyone serious about their education. It’s rare to find a school that balances such a wide selection of resources with the kind of personalized attention you get from the counselors here. If you’re ready to take the next step in your academic or professional journey, this is the place to do it.
F.A department; 7/10/2026 2 months now, and they are still processing ppls financial aid....we are a month into the semester, and nothing, still being reviewed, and no one ever answers there phone. Some of us desperately depend on that money, so much that it effects our grades, due to no payment to pay for things, like laptop, internet, housing. Absolutely ridiculous!
I started my first semester in person here of Spring 2026 and I gotta say, it was a great experience. I already miss the in-person lecture--probably not the workload--but it was a JOY to witness how Professor Eoff taught ART100 for Spring 2026. I hope to transfer to a university after receiving my credits here and I know the campus itself now to say.....GO HAWKS!
"I had a wonderful experience at Santiago Canyon College. Emily in the administration office was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. She took the time to answer my questions, guided me through the process, and made me feel welcome. Her excellent customer service reflects the supportive environment at the college. Thank you, Emily, for going above and beyond to help students succeed."
Terrible college, poor customer service. I've been trying to reach the head of the code enforcement classes department, Sergio, for over 3 months. Several emails from me and my coworker went ignored. I called the college counseling office and tried to ask them the questions I had but they didn't know the answers and said that someone who knows the answer about the upcoming classes will call me back in 15 minutes, of course, they never called. I finally got an answer back from Sergio, and it was a one line email that was pretty much useless, as he's bored and tired of his job. I responded back asking for clarification, to no avail. I'd probably get an answer after the classes are over. The employees at Santiago should look at the layoffs at Santa Monica college and take a lesson by trying to provide great customer service so they can attract more students which means more money for the college, but no, they're a bunch of entitled government employees that think attracting potential students is not related to their paychecks. Once the layoffs start , which is the trend in every community college now, they'd be begging for their jobs.
