J McKeegan2 weeks agoGreat location if you need a room close to the EU buildings. Had a fairly uneventful stay- but with multiple people asking to repair the bathroom (it wasn’t broken) and papers taped over the vents in the room when I arrived (?!?!) Otherwise, the room was clean, large, and well fitted. Room service was tasty and arrived early. Staff at check in were helpful despite my not speaking any French or German.
Woman Womana month agoI do not recommend this hotel. I gave it 2 stars: one star for the comfortable bed and central location, and one star for the good breakfasts. Regarding other aspects of comfort — negatives. There is mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The windows are dirty — both the glass, through which it is unpleasant even to open the curtains, and the frames and windowsill. It is obvious that none of this has been cleaned for a very long time. I would also add very poor sound insulation of these same windows — even though we stayed on the 3rd floor, it felt like we were living in the middle of the street, as the noise from people outside was very loud, especially from a nearby café, which was particularly disturbing at night, as well as garbage collection trucks early in the morning. The air conditioning system does not work for heating. The weather was warm during the day, but around +4 to +5 at night, and we wanted to warm up. They brought a heater, which blew warm air, making it difficult to breathe and drying out the skin. And finally — the desk, with worn-out coating full of holes, and in addition, a notebook that had as many as… 2 pages.
Mark Thornton2 months agoVery atypical Marriott. The rooms and towels are great, and location isn’t too bad. The food is actually quite good, yet the service is absolutely lacking. The word slow would be a compliment, the sense of customer service is simply nonexistent, and courtesy and politeness is clearly not of the Marriott brand that you would expect. It can be expected as part of the pan-European culture, yet this was essentially plain deadpan. I would always without a doubt recommend a Renaissance by Marriott, but I certainly would not recommend in this instance.
Lady Di6 months agoThe hotel has a good location and a stylish design. The staff are great, very friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast was okay-ish, but definitely overpriced for what it offers. As mentioned by other guests as well, the AC is a problem: it’s either too cold or too hot, and if it gets too warm, you can’t open the window to regulate the temperature. In the room, there is no bin for mixed trash, only recycling bins. While the hotel puts a strong focus on sustainability and saving water, there is an issue with the toilet flush: the button doesn’t return to its original position, and if you don’t manually pull it back, the water keeps running non-stop. Also, there is no toilet brush, which is inconvenient. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable as well. Overall, the hotel feels overpriced for the experience it provides:(
Valerie2 months agoI have stayed here multiple times and do not recommend unless nothing else is available. The Gym is modly and old in the cellar, I would not use the pool due to the smell and mold in the room. The staff at times is very unfriendly. Rooms are Mariott standard. Overall, the ration value for money is not fair.
