Richard Holborow★★★★★a month agoThis is a fantastic hotel in North Brussels. A very high premium hotel but is a good price. The receptionist and concierge were very helpful upon my arrival give me full detail details of the location how to navigate the area of Brussels. My room is incredibly spacious with a separate toilet from the bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable and the food was fantastic. There are no there are lots of eater places just outside the hotel should you not wish to dine there.
hamid tehrani★★★★★a month agoThis hotel is categorized as a 5-star hotel, but in my opinion it is closer to a 4-star experience at best. For example, there was not even complimentary bottled water in the room, instead, they charge €6 for water, while the grocery store next door sells it for around €1. For a hotel with this rating, that was disappointing.
The hotel itself also feels quite old, and there was nothing particularly special in terms of service or amenities that justified the 5-star classification. The room was not the cleanest either, which further affected the experience.
We also paid for breakfast and were very disappointed. I would not recommend it at all. It is quite expensive considering the quality, and you can easily get a much better breakfast at a nearby café for a lower price and better quality. In my opinion, the breakfast is not worth the money.
Overall, the experience did not match the expectations of a 5-star hotel.

Szonja Balogh★★★★★4 months agoI can recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Although my stay was short and I only had a brief meal at the bar, the overall impression was excellent. The restaurant appears to be high quality, and the wine selection is particularly good.
The rooms are very spacious by European standards, especially for Brussels. The layout is well thought out, with a separate toilet, and a bathroom that includes both a bathtub and a separate shower, which is ideal for two people. There is also a well geard up Nespresso coffee machine, minibar, in-room safe, and the room is quiet, well furnished, and clearly well maintained.
The bed is extremely comfortable, balanced between firm and soft, and there is a pillow menu available at check-in, allowing you to choose from different pillow types based on preference.
The hotel offers several thoughtful extras, including free shoeshine service in the morning and free wifi without limitations. You can also easily work from these rooms as well.
The wellness area includes a gym, a Finnish sauna, and an infrared sauna. The bathroom amenities are high quality (Molton Brown products), and bathrobes and slippers are provided.
The design details are well executed, including the uniquely designed “do not disturb” and “clean my room” signs that fit the hotel’s overall aesthetic. The staff is consistently kind, professional, and helpful.
Finally, the location is excellent. Overall, a very comfortable, quiet, and well-run hotel that I would happily recommend.
Azar★★★★★7 months agoStanhope Hotel Brussels by Thon Hotels is one of the most elegant and historically significant hotels in Brussels, combining British sophistication with Belgian charm. Located near the Royal Palace and the European Quarter, it is a favorite destination for travelers seeking a peaceful retreat.
The hotel's history dates back to the 19th century, when it served as a residence for the nobility and was later transformed into Belgium's first five-star hotel. The interiors retain the spirit of the Victorian era: The hotel features antique furniture, vintage paintings, elegant stucco ceilings, and a secluded inner garden that transports guests back to late 19th-century London.
The decor is influenced by the classic English club, with its warm tones, velvet fabrics, and the languid gleam of polished wood.
Interestingly, many of the hotel's furnishings, including the chandeliers and mirrors, were sourced from historic European estates and castles to preserve the authentic atmosphere of the era.
Today, the hotel is owned by the Norwegian chain Thon Hotels, but it strives to maintain its aristocratic spirit. It combines tradition and modernity: eco-friendly technology coexists with furniture that is over a hundred years old, and the Brighton restaurant features an interesting eclectic English style with Chinese and Mongolian motifs. This is a unique example of the Chinoiserie style, which is a European fantasy on the art of China and other Asian countries, creating an exotic fairy-tale effect. It is a creative interpretation of Eastern motifs. Key elements include images of mythological creatures and natural motifs such as bamboo, palm trees, flowers, and birds.
Breakfast is also served in this restaurant.
The Stanhope Hotel Brussels remains a symbol of sophistication, peace, and refined taste — a place where history and modernity meet in an atmosphere of intelligent comfort and subtle charm.
If you are interested in the history of the hotel, be sure to talk to Mr. Serge, who will charmingly tell you about interesting details that you won't find on the internet.
For example, we learned that the hotel's beautiful inner garden features two unique magnolias that are 130 and 115 years old, respectively. These magnolias continue to delight hotel guests with their beautiful flowers.
