Since its founding in 1986, Nashville Ballet has become the largest professional ballet company in Tennessee. Nashville Ballet presents a varied repertoire of classical ballet and boundary-pushing contemporary works by world-renowned choreographers, as well as original ballets by Artistic Director Paul Vasterling, Artistic Director Designate Nick Mullikin, and Resident Choreographer Mollie Sansone. Nashville Ballet and the second company, NB2 (a pre-professional training company), provide more than 55,000 arts experiences to adults and children annually through virtual and in-person season performances and its Community Engagement programming. Curriculum-based Community Engagement programs bring dance education to community centers, colleges, public libraries, and public elementary, middle, and high schools across the state. Avery Sernett2 months agoMy 4 year old completed her first year of ballet in the Creative Movement class from Fall 2025-Spring 2026 and absolutely loved it. She did the annual performance too. She is so excited to share with us the skills she has learned each week. It was also our first class where we were able to leave the facility, which was a nice surprise! Lots of close by coffee shops to visit while the little ones are in class. Highly recommend if you have an aspiring little ballerina.
Fizz Damra3 months agoWe’ve had a great experience with School of Nashville Ballet. My daughters started in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet, and it’s been really satisfying to watch how deliberately the program builds — not just steps, but confidence, focus, and a genuine love for showing up and trying. They both take their ballet seriously and are very much into it, which says a lot about how the classes are run and how the teachers engage them. Miss Jojo and Mr. Shabaz have both made a strong impression. We just registered again — Pre-Ballet 1 and Academy 1 this year — and we’re excited to keep going. It’s been a thoughtful, well-run program and a really positive part of our lives.
Michelle Noravon3 months agoMy 9yo has been attending Nashville Ballet since she was 4 and we absolutely love it. The curriculum, staff and facility are great and it’s truly a family feel. Now my 3yo is also enrolled and she can’t wait to go to class each week.I also just recently enrolled in the adult ballet classes and those are great as well. Can’t recommend it enough!
Nancy Snoke3 months agoI attend dance fix during my child's ballet class. So it's super convenient and an awesome cardio workout. Dance fix is super fun! The energy is great. It is 10 choreographed dance songs. One new song every two weeks, only the new song is broken down to its choreography for learning. It could be a little intimidating if you're not used to dancing and group fitness and just jumping in and trying new things. The classes are fairly big and it is fast paced. There are advanced moves shown, but everything can be modified to your fitness level. If you love to dance I would highly recommend it. The teachers are always great and everyone is so nice.
