I booked the King Bed Loft Suite for one night to celebrate our anniversary, and given how expensive a single night was, I came away pretty disappointed. To be fair, there's a lot to like about the property itself. The room was spacious, and the hotel as a whole is beautiful and uniquely designed. The bar and lobby in particular have a great aesthetic. The problems were all in the details that actually matter when you're staying in the room. Despite the price, everything inside felt cheap, the couch, the mattress, the sheets, the pillows. We ordered room service (two pastas for over $50), and it arrived in two small takeout containers with plastic utensils, with surprisingly small portions. The in-room entertainment was the most frustrating part. The TVs had regular cable, with the option to rent a movie for $25 or use a Google Cast feature that made it look like you could access streaming services. I followed every instruction to set this up, which only resulted in filling out surveys, creating accounts, and handing my data over to multiple companies. After all that, I still couldn't access any streaming services, all I ended up with was a remote on my phone .For a hotel at this price point, I'd expect comfort and convenience to be the priority. Unfortunately, I didn't get either.
An absolutely amazing experience! The staff is top notch. The service is impeccable from front desk to valet to food. It's a stunning property! My only issues with this hotel were that our air conditioning did not work. It was 80 in our room and given the middle of the night, it made more sense to just open a window, which we were surprised to find our window opened fully on the 12th floor which violates code. I was thankful for the fresh air yet alarmed by the safety issue. Additionally, the shower water pressure was disappointing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
We had a hell of a weekend and Grace at the front desk was an absolute angel. She was so accommodating and was so lovely to talk to. She was genuinely interested in what our plans were and was super excited to see the photos I took of the hotel and around town! She made a very crazy weekend a lot easier just by being so sweet. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the beds were really comfy! The only thing that sucked was the people revving, there super loud engines outside until three in the morning but that does come with being in the heart of downtown.
Was really impressed with our stay at the Hotel Kansas City. The renovation of this hotel was done perfectly. It's an older building and they blended in the modern touches very well here. Our room was nice and spacious and we loved the location of this property which is right in the heart of Kansas City. If you're looking for a modern hotel feel and experience, stay at the Loews, if you want modern touches blended in with old school charm, stay at the Hotel Kansas City. Either way, these are the two best places to stay in KC.
Hotel Kansas City absolutely exceeded expectations from the moment we walked through the doors. The building itself is stunning, with historic architecture that blends perfectly with modern luxury. The attention to detail throughout the property is impressive, from the beautifully restored lobby to the thoughtful design elements in the rooms. The room was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The bedding was high quality, the bathroom was well appointed, and everything felt intentional and upscale. One detail that really stood out was the Keurig coffee maker in the room. Having great coffee readily available first thing in the morning made the stay even better. It is those small touches that elevate the experience. The atmosphere throughout the hotel feels both sophisticated and welcoming. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Every interaction felt smooth and accommodating, which made the entire stay effortless. The location is also a major highlight. Being right in the heart of downtown Kansas City makes it easy to walk to restaurants, entertainment, and nearby attractions. Whether visiting for business or a weekend getaway, it is perfectly situated. Overall, Hotel Kansas City delivers a true boutique luxury experience. The combination of historic charm, modern comfort, excellent service, and thoughtful in-room amenities like the Keurig coffee makers makes it a place I would absolutely return to and confidently recommend to anyone staying in Kansas City.
