What a fantastic stay! This beautiful historic hotel is impressive on its own, but the staff truly make it special. Every employee we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making our visit enjoyable. Whether it was a simple hello in the hallway or asking if we needed anything, the hospitality was exceptional. A special shoutout to Linh, who was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, Stationary, and spent time at both the Alligator Bar and Bar Car. The food and drinks were outstanding throughout our stay. The Korean short ribs at Bar Car and the octopus app at Stationary were easily our favorite bites of the weekend. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was spotless, comfortable, and serviced daily. As a bonus, my train-loving husband was fascinated by the history of the building and loved that it was a beautifully restored train station turned hotel. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
I have wanted to visit Union Station for years, and my family and I finally had the opportunity for an overnight stay. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a small window view of the stone bridge outside. The room itself was nice enough, but the common areas like the grand hall and the restaurant were the showstoppers. The architecture and history was absolutely incredible. Take the self-guided tour if you can. The alligator bar and minigolf were fun. Hotel staff, especially Andrew, were really helpful and friendly. There was plenty to do in the area, like the Frist museum next door) with a few minute walk down Broadway to the honky tonks. We definitely plan to return!
LOVED our stay here for our 21st wedding anniversary. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL and located at the quieter end of Broadway. Staff- The staff is soooo friendly. The front desk is extremely helpful and accommodating. Thank you so much for Saya (may have spelled wrong sorry). He was awesome! The wait staff and bartenders were great too. Location - I loved the location. It was a way from the louder bars BUT 10-15 min walk to The Gulch, Printer's Alley, and all of Broadway. We walked everywhere with no issue. The trolley tour does stop literally in front of the hotel so that is an option as well. Food/drink- A small indoor bar and an outdoor bar. Indoor you can play shuffle board. Outdoor has corn hole and pickle ball. Drinks are good and they have a nice selection. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant but it was good. I have a gluten allergy and had no issue with eggs, omelettes or bacon. Free to go coffee from the restaurant if you are staying at the hotel. Fitness center - There is a small very clean gym. It has several ellipticals, treadmills, and stationary bikes along with one peloton. A good variety of DBs, MBs, and a cable crossover machine. Also a filter water machine to fill up re usable bottles. Perfect to sweat out my G+Ts! I would absolutely stay here again! Highly recommend.
We recently had our wedding at Union Station, and while we ultimately had a beautiful day, there were several disappointing aspects of the planning experience that future couples should be aware of. The positives: the venue itself is stunning, the appetizers received great feedback from our guests, the room flip from ceremony to reception was executed very well, and most of the day-of staff were wonderful. Our biggest frustration was the lack of ownership when issues arose. Despite confirming our meal selections multiple times throughout the planning process and at our tasting, one of our entrée choices was prepared incorrectly on the wedding day. Rather than taking responsibility, Union Station’s response was that the kitchen simply prepared what was listed on the paperwork they received. As clients, we viewed Union Station as one organization, not separate departments passing responsibility back and forth. We also paid for five bartenders, but there were periods throughout the evening when multiple bartenders were absent, including a period of several minutes where the bar was unattended. In addition, we were surprised by the number of extra charges that surfaced after signing the contract. The standard reception chairs felt out of place for a venue at this price point, making an upgrade feel necessary, and there seemed to be an additional fee attached to many requests throughout the planning process (Per bag fee to hand out welcome bags at check in, vendor parking, etc). The most disappointing part was not that mistakes happened, but that there was very little effort to acknowledge them or make things right afterward. Union Station is a beautiful venue, and we are grateful for the wonderful memories we made there. However, given the cost of hosting a wedding at this property, we expected stronger communication, greater attention to detail, more transparency around additional costs, and a higher level of accountability when issues occurred. I do want to specifically recognize the Food & Beverage Director, who was professional and helpful. My frustration is not directed at him personally. Rather, it is with the overall response from Union Station when concerns were raised. Despite the meal error and other issues, no meaningful effort was made to compensate us or make things right.
Fantastic location. Old train station turned hotel. Gorgeous lobby. Fantastic service. Rooms are large with hardwood floors (I don’t like hotels with carpets). Terrific shower.
