Brian Wirt2 months agoRhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University is one of the most underrated event and wedding venues in Wichita. From a professional DJ and Photo Booth perspective, the venue offers a versatile setup with strong event flow, flexible ballroom space, and one of the best large-capacity reception environments in the area. The Shirley Beggs Ballroom stands out immediately with its spacious layout, elevated ceilings, and clean design that can easily transform from formal elegance to a high-energy dance party atmosphere. Whether it’s a wedding reception, gala, corporate event, quinceañera, or university celebration, the space adapts extremely well for lighting, entertainment, and large guest counts. From a DJ standpoint, load-in access and room layout make setup efficient, and the ballroom creates excellent sound coverage for both formal presentations and packed dance floors. Photo Booth setups also work especially well here because of the open floorplan and guest traffic flow throughout the event. One of the biggest advantages is the venue’s flexibility and affordability compared to many traditional banquet halls in Wichita. Event planners have access to multiple room configurations and customizable event options while still maintaining a polished, upscale atmosphere. The central Wichita location on the Wichita State campus also makes parking and guest accessibility convenient, especially for larger events and multicultural celebrations. Head11 months agoI held my mother's memorial service here in the Santa Fe Trail Room, and I was so impressed with everyone I worked with in the Events Services and Media Services groups, as well as the cleanliness, complete modernity and convenience of the facility. I booked the Santa Fe Trail Room and couldn't have been more delighted, as the AV equipment and provided connections were excellent. The room's beautiful 9-screen OLED display rendered the presentation perfectly. Sound quality was very high and the video services team did an excellent job of videography. Pricing was competitive and I appreciated the fact that it was easy to locate the building on the campus, parking was also easy and very close, and that attendees could use either the garage (paid) or the free parking lot, both of which are next to the building. Events Services Staff provided me with wording to aid guests in finding the Center and the room. Thanks to Maria (director), Becca and Emily of Events Services; and to Caleb and Katie of Video Services, who all worked together to make the memorial a memorable experience for my family, they were very impressed.
Michael9 months agoAnyone who went to WSU for college can attest to this: The Rhatigan Student Center is an amazing resource for its students and community. Whether you need a place to eat, meet, study, or just hang out and unwind, this is the spot! They even have a bar and bowling alley in the basement.
Troya year agoWas here for a conference in ElWichita, it was great and has some good breakfast and lunch options on the first floor. Great place for a conference, really enjoyed the experience. Parking can be an issue around lunch time
