Xär Blackthorn3 months agoPopped in on a whim for a 30 minute chair massage tonight because my back has been hurting and I have a flight in the morning. I have never gotten such a short massage before and wasn’t sure it would feel sufficient enough. Boy, was it ever! He somehow made 30 minutes feel like 40. He used a very deep pressure with his elbows, which I love as I have a ton of knots in my upper back. Absolutely incredible. Great technique on the arm and hands too. I felt like I was ready to pass out at the end. Even if this place wasn’t behind my apartment, I’d still go out of my way for it just because I prefer his technique to the guys at the Vancouver Mall. I’ll be back soon!
Ian Lennona month agoMy wife and I had a chair massage by 2 men and they were both 5/10. She usually sees women massage therapists here and has loved her chair massages in the past. Came in with a knot in my shoulder and dont feel any relief after the massage which is disappointing. Wife described her massage as feeling like he wasnt actually a trained massage therapist and just got shown what to do. Would only recommend seeing the women here, but I personally wont be coming back.
John Vlastelica7 months agoReally nice front desk and massage people. I asked for firm massage and got very light massage. I did the combo foot and chair. Very reasonable price at $70 plus tip for 30 min feet and 30 min chair. The foot massage was relaxing but not at all the kind of deep Chinese massage where you feel like someone just massaged your feet and helped to work out sore points. It felt like a light spa experience with piled up hands rubbing your feet. No knuckles or digging into arches or deep pressure. And I asked for that. Chair massage was similar. I asked for very deep pressure to the guy doing the massage. Very nice and I think he thought he was doing deep. But it was mostly forearm, long strokes over a towel and my shirt with no real digging into problem areas. I read the reviews and hoped for deep massage with elbows and deep pressure and someone who would work on knots and problem areas. What I got felt like a memorized pattern of gentle relaxing massage. Disappointed. Was hoping for something much more like deep tissue massage given the excellent reviews.
Jean3 months agoI received a gift card for a massage and finally made the appointment. Hands down the best massage ive EVER HAD! Jane is excellent & knowledgeable. She was able to get rid of knots that had been there for years! I highly recommend Lao Shan! I wont waste my $ on any place else. Top notch!!
Matt Gonzales8 months agoMy chiropractor recommended Lao Shan and I’m so happy to have had a chance to finally check it out. Booked a couples massage for my wife and I, and we loved working with Jacky and David. They were very skilled, intuitive with finding and working out problem areas, and just overall very professional. Definitely worth a visit and we are looking forward to coming back soon.
