Veronica Thomasa month agoIf I could give 4.5 stars, I would. The only reason is that the toilet seat in our room was worn and peeling. A 4-star review feels too low because everything else was so great, so I’m happy to give it 5 stars. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but they were spotless, well-decorated, and very comfortable. We actually had one of the best nights of sleep we’ve had in a long time thanks to the incredibly comfortable bed. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, check-in was quick and easy, the location is fantastic, and the price is very affordable. Parking was a bit of a headache, though, there wasn’t any parking other than the expensive lot right next door, which wanted $72 for the night despite stating a “max daily limit” of $20/$25. Or maybe I just couldn’t figure it out… however, the hotel did offer valet with come and go privileges for $45/night. They also offer a complimentary wine tasting and buffet breakfast, both of which exceeded our expectations. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!
Terry Dubner3 weeks agoHotel Gibbs is such a great hotel experience. Rooms are clean. Service is superb. Free breakfast is amazing. And quiet! I never heard any noise at night. Air conditioning is wonderful. Parking is really pricey. That is my only complaint.it was very convenient but still, pricey. I knew ahead of time and chose to use the valet anyway. It’s very convenient
Dana Quines4 weeks agoThe hotel is beautiful, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. The property itself is nice, and there were things about our stay that we appreciated. Unfortunately, I have to leave a low rating because of two major issues. First, we had a very frustrating experience with the valet service. We requested our vehicle well in advance, but it still took about 40 minutes to receive it. Because of the delay, we missed our reservation for my partner’s birthday dinner, which was very disappointing. The second and most concerning issue was what appears to have been bed bugs. After I got home, I noticed multiple red, itchy, swollen bites on the back of my legs, my arm, and my back. At first, I thought they were mosquito bites, but they appeared in clusters in the same areas, which made me suspect they were bed bug bites. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously, especially by inspecting the rooms and improving the valet service, so future guests don’t have the same experience.
Coco Gonzalez2 months agoI stayed here with my wife a few months ago. We visited SA for our aniversary to go to a Spurs game. The staff is so kind and helpfull! Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has a nice vintage vibe and its so lovely. Location wise is perfect! Of you are hanguing out in downtown the place is great no need to use the car. Parking can be tricky but they offer valet service at and additional cost and besides there are lots of parking spaces (we went on weekdays so idk is on weekends is harder). Great experience would stay again for sure
Elizabeth Bonnell3 months agoIf you're looking for a good reliable hotel near the Alamo, this one is a great choice. Every staff member encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quite beautiful, and the flower wine tasting was unique and delicious. When I book hotels I usually keep an eye out for the opportunity to have breakfast included, it makes everything more streamlined when planning long trip days. This was a great choice, some hotels have subpar breakfasts that you eat more out of obligation than desire- the Gibbs had a wonderful set up for breakfast tacos with a nice salsa bar. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Thank you all for such a nice stay, we hope to come back again!
