Bernard H★★★★★4 weeks agoThis was my second stay at the Mondrian Singapore Duxton.
On the negative side, the rooms are very small with limited storage space. Also, the reception areas are small with limited space to sit and relax.
However, the positive sides are numerous. The rooms are clean and beds large and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are superb (though at the most popular times some queuing for a very brief time might be required to secure a good table.) The staff are all friendly and helpful rather than over formal and stuffy. The rooftop swimming pool is wonderful (provided you aren’t the sort of person who wants to swim countless lengths as if in training for the Olympics!) I understand that some have commented on the ground floor night club being noisy. Personally, I didn’t observe it to be particularly noisy. Certainly, in my room on the top floor, I had absolutely no noise disturbance.
John N★★★★★3 weeks agoExtremely satisfied of our stay at the Mondrian Duxton. Choosed for it’s great location, in central singapore chinatown district, the hotel design is an astonishing mix of modern art. Rooms are well thought and laid out, very practical and relaxing despite being not very large. Cleanliness was equally remarkable. The piece that makes the hotel special is the swimming pool with a stuninng view over Singapore. Breakfast is of high quality
There many things to explore within the hotel and the vicinity that a few days are not enough.
Special thanks to Candice, who is actively attending guest needs and for going beyond expectation. She truly made a difference.
I higly recommend the Mondrian duxton.
Justin Smith★★★★★3 months agoWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel, which is in an excellent location. Situated in Chinatown, it’s very central with multiple public transport options nearby, including bus stops and MRT stations with several lines all within walking distance.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars right around the hotel, and if you’re looking for more budget-friendly options, there are also several food halls nearby offering a wide variety of delicious cuisines.
The hotel itself has a stylish design. The room was standard in size, nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a particularly pleasant shower. It was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided upon request.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop pool is a great feature, although some of the sunbeds, while visually appealing, are no longer very comfortable as the cushions are a bit worn.
We only had breakfast at the hotel, which was very good in terms of variety and quality. The only downside was that it could get very busy at times, leading to waiting times before being seated. The coffee was also not particularly great.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Morgan Constable★★★★★4 months agoWe stayed at the Mondrian Singapore to celebrate our anniversary and chose this hotel at a higher rate specifically for the rooftop pool, bar, and sunset views.
At check-in, we were not told that the rooftop would be taken over by a private, members-only event that evening. When we went up at sunset, the space was clearly not welcoming to hotel guests — there was “members only” signage, a strict white dress code, and a loud, exclusive atmosphere. We felt intimidated, uncomfortable and out of place and left without staying, missing the sunset entirely.
We raised this with reception and were told the event would end around 9pm and that the area was technically open to guests. By then, the sunset had passed, which was the entire reason we booked this hotel. Two complimentary drinks were offered, but we didn’t take advantage of them, and this did not address the loss of access to the hotel’s main advertised feature at the most important time of day.
After checkout, we contacted guest relations with a detailed and reasonable request for a partial refund or rate adjustment. That message was ignored completely. The lack of follow-up or care after checkout was, frankly, more disappointing than the event itself.
The room was lovely, and the hotel has a great location, but prioritising private events over paying guests — and then failing to respond when concerns are raised — is not what you expect from a hotel at this level.
Potential guests should be aware that access to key amenities may be restricted without notice, and that post-stay guest care may be lacking.
Michaela Mail★★★★★4 weeks agoSuch a beautiful atmosphere all around! As soon as you walk in you will be wowed. The staff were attentive and accommodating, happy to do anything to help. A special thank you to Lina, Linda and Adrian who made my holiday even more enjoyable with their fantastic service and care, they always made sure I was welcomed, comfortable and had anything I needed which I am so grateful for as someone who travels alone. You guys are the best! The pool area is amazing, great cocktails, a lovely place to relax with the view! The breakfast had a great selection with quality products and nice coffee. The whole hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere to it. I found most the people there were for business but even the ones on holiday were chilled, which is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place. And on this note even in the mornings, I never once heard the typical clattering from the cleaners trolleys, it was always so quiet, all my years in hotels this was a first, it was greatly appreciated if you wanted to rest. There never felt any rush or problem to grab a spot anywhere. The room and bathroom are on the smaller side but still very comfortable, clean and at a high standard. The only thing I would change are the bed on the cabanas were not comfortable, the ones on the sun beds were thicker which were better. Situation in the heart of Chinatown it’s great for walking around, plenty of food options nearby and quick easy train access. A truly wonderful place, high quality in all areas. I absolutely loved my time here, thank you!! ❤️
