We really enjoyed our stay at this Westin. The rooms are definitely dated, but charming. The carved wooden headboards, ornate mirrors, older carpets, oversized furniture, the cool dry air, and even the deep low rumble of the air conditioning give the hotel that classic Texas feel from the 1980s. The property is also very clean and clearly well maintained by people who take their jobs seriously. In fact, the staff were the highlight of the stay. Everyone was warm, professional, and impressively responsive. Requests made at the front desk were immediately relayed to the right team, and things like extra towels arrived almost before we got back to the room. The restaurant staff were equally accommodating and pleasant. A few drawbacks: there is no lounge at this property, and for a prominent Marriott hotel near major corporate offices and premier medical centers, it would be nice to see clearer halal-, kosher-, and vegetarian-friendly dining options on menus. The rooms could also use better lighting, especially near the luggage storage area. Overall though, we loved the stay and especially the people. The furnishings may be older, but the cleanliness, atmosphere, and outstanding staff more than made up for it.

I'm a Hilton loyalist, but I decided to give this try, as I've never seen a bad Westin. This was the exception. My flight got in at noon and I had a ton of work today. I went to the hotel and exchanged pleasantries with the person at the front desk. I then politely asked if there was any way my room might be ready. I was told "The problem is, check in is at 4:00 and you're here at 12:30. You're going to have to pay us $25 if you want in early". I'm accustomed to a late check out fee, but I was surprised to be charged for a room that was ready for my arrival - and she made me feel like a criminal for asking for an early check in. Nevertheless, I was happy to pay the fee to have a quiet place to work, so I checked in for my two night stay. The lobby was in decent shape, but in hindsight, I noticed that all of the windows in the lobby were in desperate need of cleaning. That should have been a sign. When I stepped off the elevator, I was greeted by a seen that almost looked like the set of a bad movie. Walls that were damaged as far as the eye could see, the odor of mildew was thick, and the air felt humid. I then walked into my room. It was clean, but it looked like it was last updated in 1997. I began to settle in and I noticed the thermostat read 62 degrees, despite being set to 70. I figured it would slowly warm up, but it didn't. When my fingernails began to turn blue, I went to the front desk and they very kindly sent maintenance to my room. The maintenance employee was speedy and kind and adjusted the components on the AC to begin to warm the room. Unfortunately, he overcorrected. The room was the surface of the sun throughout the night. I woke up in the morning, showered, grabbed my bag, and left the hotel and checked into a Hilton property downtown.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Rooms were great and the service was amazing. Enjoyed the sauna, pool and bar. We got the king size bedroom suite and I loved how spacious it was. The microwave and ice machines are only on certain floors and there isn’t a guest laundry room on site but wasn’t that much of an issue. We will definitely be booking at the Westin again!

Always a beautiful property, well-maintained and perfectly located at the Colonnade in Northwest San Antonio. This time we attended the musical extravaganza BELL ORTIZ SERENATA FOR EDUCATION, featuring performance by some of the most important benefactors and advocates for education, including the Gamez Law Firm, the Bexar County Sheriff's Foundation, Dick Gill, Rick Cavender, and more. The Ballroom was perfectly set up, the stage maybe a little small considering you have a full band and performers. Double the size would have been amazing. The food was wonderful, and the service timely, friendly, and so attentive. Once again, a wonderful experience at the Westin, formerly the Omni.

Positives: Hotel smells nice upon entering, room was ready at time of check in, and the location great for traveling downtown. Negatives: There was a lack of room service. I even requested my room to be cleaned one day, and when I returned later on...the room was untouched. Paid parking, additional fees to use Wi-fi. The bed supposed to have been a queen size, but it felt more like a full size bed. The mini fridge in our room didn't work. Overall, for the amount of money you pay, the above issues shouldn't have been a problem.
