  Ideal for the solo or business traveler First stay at the Hotel Sol Cypress, and it won’t be the last. Great location on the Museum Reach—a short walk to the River Walk one way, the Pearl the other. The room was spotless and clearly well maintained: modern bathroom with excellent lighting, great water pressure, and a small balcony overlooking the River Walk. Everything looked new. Welcoming lobby, no issues with staff, and breakfast was fantastic. Two caveats. Free parking is hard to find—but you’re downtown, so that’s true everywhere. And I wouldn’t pick it for families with young kids; there’s not much for a toddler on site (it is dog-friendly, with a little dog park). Is it five-star in the turndown-service sense? No. But the experience earns the rating.

  I want to recognize Cesar at Soul Cypress San Antonio for the outstanding customer service he provides. Because of team members like Cesar, this hotel continues to be my favorite place to stay in San Antonio. He consistently goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcomed, valued, and taken care of. Cesar’s professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine desire to help make every stay exceptional. He always ensures that service is delivered with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. Great employees like Cesar are hard to find, and he is truly a fantastic hire for the hotel.   We have stayed at the Sol Cypress since prior to the update/Bonvoy Tribute upgrade 3 years ago. The location and staff bring us back ofter. The hotel is walking distance to the Riverwalk entertainment district, and close to local restaurants and bars in Alamo heights and the Pearl District. Molly has helped us book blocks if rooms and Caitlyn at the desk and Richard at the valet stand out. All the staff is friendly and helpful.

  Nice hotel. One star for their self park lot. The lot is designated as hotel parking. But instead of gating the lot and paying when you leave, you must scan a code and pay. The problem is that you can only pay for 24 hours at a time, so if you’re staying for more than one day, you have no way to purchase the next day of parking unless you are physically present in the lot when your first 24 hours expires. So, foreseeably, after paying for the first day, my parking lapsed, and they attempted to charge me $80 additional dollars for expired parking. In total, I was charged $120 dollars for 36 hours of parking, in a part of the city where space is plentiful. That’s unethical, and that’s unconscionable. And I’m sure the hotel will point to their valet service, which would have solved the issue, but I chose self park because I thought it was more convenient. I understand the lot is run and policed but another company, but again, it’s designated as hotel parking, and now I have no recourse with the hotel, so I do view the hotel as responsible for a parking situation that doesn’t work, and frankly, unconscionable, predatory scheme. I will be refusing to pay the $80 fee, so to avoid having my car booted, I won’t be visiting this hotel again. What a way to ruin what otherwise would have been a 5 star experience. 👎

  I went down to Sol Cypress to meet a friend's staying there for a week. She came in from Chicago. We had a glass of wine at the bar. We ordered Appetizers, caught up on everything going on in our lives. It was really nice. She showed me around the property. What a Beautuful Property, service at the bar was the best. The food was good. I felt I was transported to a New Orleans location. It has such a different feel, Ambiance. Very Nice...!!
