Christie Johnsona month agoI stayed here for a conference at Vanderbilt. My room and the shared bathroom were clean. I had a full size bed, which was nice compared to the twin bed I was expecting. The trade-off was no tv in my room. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I very much enjoyed the dining hall meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which was part of our conference. The food was delicious every time, and the staff were super helpful about dietary needs. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. One suggestion I would make is to have a sign with the name of each building on each side of the building instead of just one sign on one side, because it can be a bit confusing to navigate. I would happily stay here again.
Jamie Johnson5 months agoI stayed here in the residence hall for a week during a national leadership training. This is a beautiful campus with incredible history and architecture. It is extremely well kept and the staff is sooo nice. The food in the dining hall was DELICIOUS during my seven day stay. The only critique is, it was a school for women missionaries in the early 1900s so the rooms are pretty small and there was a Jack and Jill (shared) bathroom between two rooms but the twin sized bed in my room was pretty comfortable. As I traveled to the event with multiple people the shared bathrooms wasn’t an issue for us.
Thomsen Smith2 months agoFully converted old dormitories adjacent to Vanderbilt University, VU Peabody campus & Medical Center. Not a full service Hilton or Marriott experience. If you value privacy & quiet restful sleep in the busy West End/21st Ave corridor, you can't beat it at these rates. Yes, rooms are small, as are the beds if you're used to Queen/King. Staff is very friendly & responsive by text or phone. Did I mention SatCo is a block away? Restful & enjoyable stay.
Laclara Phillips4 months agoI had an amazing experience at this center. The food preparation and service was outstanding. The welcome center and dining hall was welcoming and felt like home from day one. The center was extremely clean and in tact for a building that’s over 100 years old. It’s located 6 minutes away from anything you could want or need during your stay. I experienced Nashville TN in a totally different atmosphere due to the amazing up keep and hard work of the staff here. I stayed for a week and fell more in love daily. If you are looking for a place to hold a conference, or experience Nashville, or have a wedding, or a simple bite to eat, this center covers it all at an exceptional level.
Douglas Martel4 months agoThe Celebration of Life event for my beloved sister Ellen Wheat in the SBC Harambee Auditorium last Saturday went beautifully. All of the organizers felt fully supported by Leah, Connie, Kenny, and Mike. The catering team was exceptional, too. We had some complexities around our AV needs and Mike worked through them with us on the Friday before. On the day of the event, everything went perfectly. Leah, Connie, and Kenny were also there on that Friday and helped us decide on the placement of the tables for Ellen's books and other details that were best worked out ahead of time. That made all the difference in the world. They were all lovely to work with and helpful beyond words. On the day of the event, Connie was there checking in with us multiple times even though she had several other events going on simultaneously. She helped us with parking suggestions and made sure that the auditorium was set up properly right down to the room temperature. Honestly, it simply could not have gone any better.
