Scott Salmon★★★★★a month agoI chose the Cleveland Hilton because of its excellent downtown location and proximity to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and clean.
Unfortunately, the overall service experience for our group was inconsistent and disappointing. We encountered issues with the parking garage on two separate occasions when our room key would not allow us to exit. Both times, we spent more than 20 minutes waiting for assistance while trying to reach someone through the call button and contacting the front desk. One front desk employee stayed on the phone with us until the issue was resolved and ultimately credited us for one night of parking. She provided the best customer service we experienced during our stay. We also appreciated the female bartender who kindly brought us popcorn with our drinks.
Other service issues included being abruptly told we were in the wrong area while eating outside food, finding that the 32nd-floor restaurant was not open as expected, not receiving fresh towels on our second night, and having drinks mistakenly charged to another guest’s room instead of mine. When we departed, there were no luggage carts available, and several common areas of the hotel did not appear to be well maintained or particularly clean.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the inconsistency in how guests were treated. While I personally received excellent attention from the front desk staff, including what felt like “red carpet” treatment, other members of my party were often ignored or treated rudely despite holding the same Hilton Honors status. I even witnessed another guest in our group receive noticeably less courteous service.
While the location and room quality were strong positives, the inconsistent service and operational issues significantly impacted our overall experience.
Vini Desai★★★★★a month agoIf you’re planning a large-scale Indian wedding, I cannot recommend the Hilton Cleveland Downtown highly enough.
We recently produced a 300-guest, multi-day Indian wedding here, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation. From the very beginning, Ann Pavik and the Social Events team were exceptional. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine commitment to making the event successful were evident every step of the way.
What truly set this team apart was not just their execution during the event, but the incredible support they provided throughout the entire planning process. They were patient, accommodating, and incredibly flexible as we worked through countless revisions, evolving details, last-minute pivots, and the many moving pieces that come with a large South Asian wedding. Every change was met with professionalism, positivity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
A special thank you to Ann, Leigha, the catering managers, banquet captains, housemen, and every member of the banquet and operations teams. They communicated proactively, coordinated seamlessly across departments, anticipated challenges before they became problems, and worked alongside us as true partners.
As an event planner, I know how much happens behind the scenes. This team consistently went above and beyond to support not only the couple and their families, but also every vendor involved. They handled every challenge with grace, fought fires without hesitation, remained calm under pressure, and ensured the guest experience never missed a beat. Their teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to help made an enormous difference throughout the weekend.
Our guests felt genuinely cared for, the service was impeccable, the banquet execution was flawless, and every department worked together seamlessly. It is rare to find a hotel team that is this invested in the success of an event.
Thank you, Ann, Leigha, and the entire Hilton Cleveland Downtown team for making this wedding such a tremendous success. We look forward to bringing many more celebrations your way!
Abdallah Abu Ghalyoun★★★★★a month agoI stayed at Hilton Cleveland Downtown for one night, and overall it was a really nice experience. I booked a room with a view, and the view was beautiful. The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The location is also great, especially with the lake view and being close to everything downtown. Parking is available for an extra fee, but it felt secure and convenient. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and I would definitely consider staying here again if I come back to Cleveland.
Elias Thornwell★★★★★3 months agoI stayed at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown during a short trip to Cleveland and overall it was a solid experience. The location was convenient, especially if you’re visiting downtown or attending events nearby. My room was clean and modern, with a nice view of the lake and city. The bed was comfortable, though the room felt a bit standard for the price.
Check-in was smooth, but the lobby can get busy at times. Staff were generally polite and helpful when approached. I didn’t use many amenities, but the hotel felt well maintained. It’s not perfect, but it worked well for a short, no-fuss stay in the city.
Rebecca Wehr★★★★★2 months agoWe had great cocktails at the lounge. Our room was clean. Amenities were full. The breakfast buffet is really good, but we didn't get that this time. Valet service was fast and friendly. We really like this downtown hotel.
