A well-curated museum with focus on the diversity of Asian civilizations. The collection is extensive, ranging from ceramics to significant historical artifacts, all thoughtfully displayed. Plan to spend at least an entire afternoon here to properly enjoy everything. There is a lot to see, and it’s worth taking your time. They often host interactive or special exhibitions as well, which can take even longer, so it’s a good idea to check in advance whether the current exhibition matches your interests. A must-visit in Singapore for anyone who appreciates culture, history, and well-designed exhibitions.

During my visit to Singapore, I had the chance to explore the Asian Civilisations Museum, and it turned out to be one of the most meaningful places I visited. Located beautifully along the Singapore River, the building itself has a calm and elegant presence that immediately draws you in. What I loved most was how the museum connects different Asian cultures in one space. As someone from South Asia, I felt a quiet sense of familiarity seeing artefacts, religious sculptures, ancient jewellery, and historical pieces that reflect our shared heritage. The galleries are well organised, not overwhelming, and you can comfortably spend 2–3 hours exploring at your own pace. One of the standout sections for me was the maritime trade exhibits, which show how Asian civilisations were connected centuries ago. It really makes you appreciate how history shaped modern societies like Singapore. The atmosphere inside is peaceful, the staff are helpful, and it’s not overly crowded which makes the experience even more enjoyable. If you appreciate culture, history, and art, this museum is definitely worth visiting. For me, it wasn’t just a museum visit it felt like walking through the roots of Asia itself.

This is a fantastic morning out. The ceramics collection is terrific if you are a researcher. They have ceramics from accross Asia, which allow you to really understand the trade routes and cultural impact. My son loved the music exhibit about the Chinese Qin (ancient zither) and actually played the instrument using the touchscreen tutorial! My husband enjoyed playing chess and learning the Sugoroki by playing against a robot. I also loved the shop!

Been to acm many times but had not thought to review here. Was attracted to the let's play exhibits this time, together with the chagee exhibits. Learnt a lot of interesting stuffs today. Highly recommended if you haven't been here.

A very interesting place, worth visiting - we spent about 4+ hours here. I recommend waiting until full hours for a free tour of the first rooms with a guide (about an hour)- Mr. Sebastian very vividly and passionately talked about the specimens and their history. The museum itself seemed quite chaotic, slightly lacked some cultural references to modern world and chronological order of events/exhibits. There is an opportunity to learn to play instruments and relax to beautiful melodies - which is a big plus. Also, there's now a temporary exhibition, "Let's Play," about Asian games over the years that can also be played - even with AI as an opponent! Oh, and another big plus, you get a discount to Peranakan Museum if you visit it within 7 days of visiting ACM - just keep your ticket and show to their staff to get the discount!
