We had a wonderful stay at Element San Antonio River Walk and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The hotel is modern, clean, and in a fantastic location, making it easy to explore the River Walk and nearby attractions. One of the standout moments of our stay was the exceptional hospitality. The manager personally welcomed us at breakfast, which made us feel truly valued and set a warm, inviting tone for the day. It’s those thoughtful touches that really make a difference. Speaking of breakfast, it was complimentary and exceeded our expectations. There was a great variety of fresh and delicious options, making it easy to start the day off right. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we would happily stay here again on our next visit to San Antonio.
Fantastic staff! Every single person from the valet, front desk, housekeeping & breakfast attendants were extremely friendly & helpful. In my opinion a great staff is what makes a great stay. They even brought in a birthday treat and staff signed card for my husband, so sweet! The hotel itself was clean, hallways smelled nice & fresh, room was clean & had everything we needed & more. The breakfast was huge with more options than I've seen elsewhere. Healthy options too, not just a Texas shaped waffle & cold cereal. Lots of Fresh fruit options, granola, overnight oats, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal with a ton of topping options. (And more) My favorite was the chicken sausage & veggie frittata.
Check-in began at 4:00 PM, and we arrived about 15 minutes early. We were informed that rooms were still being cleaned, which was understandable since we had arrived before check-in time. However, we did not receive our room until around 4:30 PM, and several other guests were still waiting until closer to 5:00 PM. We had dinner plans scheduled, so the delay cut into our time to settle in and get to where we needed to be. The room itself was very nice, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I also really liked the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in the room. What was most concerning, however, was that my daughter found a pill on the floor near the bed in my mother’s room. After looking it up, it appeared to be trazodone. That honestly made my stomach drop. Thankfully, my daughter is old enough to immediately tell us what she found and did not try to touch or consume it. I cannot help but think about how serious the situation could have been if a younger child had found it instead. The hotel staff handled the situation professionally and apologized, explaining that housekeeping had been rushing due to the busy day and that it would be used as a teaching opportunity with staff. While I appreciated their response, rushing should never compromise safety, especially in rooms being prepared for families. The manager did make it right and compensated my mom to give them another try. Another concerning incident was finding a bullet to a gun on the table near the phone by the elevators on the 7th floor. I turned it in to the front desk, and they apologized immediately, but it was still unexpected and concerning to come across. The breakfast was very good. There was juice and coffee as well as many dry cereal options, bread and toppings (jelly, Nutella, etc), muffins, hot food, fresh fruit, yogurt and toppings, and overnight oats. I’ve never seen a hotel have so many options for a complimentary breakfast so it was definitely a plus. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are nice, and there were definitely positives to our stay. However, finding medication in a guest room and ammunition-related items in a common area raises important safety concerns, particularly for families traveling with children.
I enjoyed my stay at the Element. It is a short walk from good restaurants and the riverwalk. Rooms were clean and property is newer. Particularly, I enjoyed the daily breakfast. It was a wide selection, and the staff were friendly. Jeff greeted me with a smile each morning and was around to answer any question. Would definitely stay again.
I have been to the 1watson rooftop bar on a few occasions and the service has always been great! I was there for a fiesta celebration for the LULAC Princess and her court! Dr. Patsy Torres performed, the food and the drinks were great, and the weather was beautiful! Beautiful event!
