Christine Bryden2 weeks agoPerfect location for all of Ottawas highlights Close to the canal and Parliament Hill and easy strolling distance to Bank, Sparks and Byward. Nowhere is far in this "capital village" Some reviews we read mocked the modern industrial vibe. Some things ( like the " unfinished ceilings") jar a little but the place suits the young business crowd that seem to love gathering in the bright comfortable bar/ lounge and furnishings are all as comfortable and functional as they are stylish. The rooms are very comfortable, great beds and pillows, and big bathrooms, with fabulous showers, plenty of towels, powerful hair dryer and even makeup cloths and of course some high end local toiletries. The focus on local food and beer, sustainable glass and cups and water refill stations were pluses for us. Great coffee machines in the rooms and pods generously refilled. They even found me a kettle and delicious teas. For us (& everyone else we heard checking out) the real strength of this place however is the young, vibrant and super professional staff. We were greeted and spoilt like favourite grandparents and nothing was too much trouble. They will be our benchmark for the rest of this trip.
x ka month agoObjectively the hotel was well located, very central and great neighborhood. The communal lounge space is nice. Water station and cafe downstairs is really convenient. Rooms were very clean and well lit. Not much to the window view but it allowed good sun light into the room. I spent many hours in my hotel room studying and honestly found the noise was fine. Around 11pm to midnight there was voices in the hallwat and loud door closing was notable as people were turning in for the night but passed soon enough. Service wise, I was blown away. I had included in my booking request for a quiet room so I could study for my exam. They had prepared a study package for me and it was the kindest personal touch I've ever experienced.
Mark Anderson3 weeks agoI loved this hotel, from the moment I arrived and the extremely friendly, professional and helpful welcome I received, to the wonderfully quirky room and I’ll be in coffee shop, it all had a really fresh vibe. The front desk team extremely helpful with my queries and made great restaurant recommendation. Lovely 24 hour café with a lovely server. Very good location, close to the main sights and lots of restaurant choices.
P Na month agoThe hotel is an average hotel. Maybe a 3 star, small rooms with small bathrooms. Rooms have very small window with natural light. Custom service needs improvement as their are internal communication issues.. no slippers, water bottle...
Sébastien Mantha3 months agoWonderful hotel & atmosphere overall. Great service, great lounge, and beautiful modern design. That said, there are some "quirks"... 1) Strangely, half their rooms don't have a refrigerator at all. We found this out after getting I to our room. To their credit, they effortlessly switched us to a room that has a refrigerator. Our second room was the exact same layout as the first, but with a mini-fridge situated where you'd expect it to be. Why not just have one in every room?? 2) There are only two little hooks in the bathroom to hang the full-size towels on. No other hooks in the room, despite lots of blank wall space. Install more hooks! 3) The standing shower lacks a handheld shower head, but does have a long tub spout protruding from the wall, just an inch above the floor. It's utterly useless other than for stubbing your toe on. Also, nowhere in the shower to hang a washcloth on. Again, no hooks?! 4) Parking is off-site in a garage situated a block away. Spots that are reserved for hotel guests are only on the fifth floor of said garage.
