Stayed here for five days. The rooms are old and in need of renovation. The wallpaper in my room was peeling off the walls, and some of the furniture was stained. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and I slept well during my stay. I was also disappointed by the number of hidden fees added at check-in. As for the Relish restaurant, I would not recommend it. The food was greasy, overpriced, and not enjoyable. Overall, there are much better places to stay for the money.
I want to sincerely recognize the exceptional team at the The Westin Seattle for turning a stressful situation into an experience that truly reflected outstanding hospitality, safety, and professionalism. After I accidentally left my phone in a cab, The Westin Team - Jay, Ted, Johnny, Sara - went above and beyond to ensure that they will do everything in their power to assist. Jay, Ted, and Johnny started following up with details, used their technical skills to solve the problem, and coordinated efforts with the airport and taxi companies to track down the driver. They stepped in with calmness, urgency, and care and safely reassured me that they will get this resolved. It felt like I had three brothers completely looking after me to ensure that I have what I needed. I have never felt so safe. Sara at check-in also provided genuine reassurance and remarkable customer service throughout he process of checking-in and taking down my room number if anyone turns in the phone. Together, they demonstrated not only incredible teamwork and problem-solving skills, but also a level of compassion and guest care that made me feel safe, valued, and fully supported. Their dedication is a true reflection of excellence in hospitality. Lastly, the room is very nice, quiet, and has beautiful views of downtown. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting/staying in Seattle, WA!
This was probably the worst hotel experience I’ve had. We went for a staycation expecting a relaxing, comfortable evening, especially given the reputation of the brand. After checking in, we settled in and ordered evening tea with desserts through room service. We were shocked to find out that everything is now delivered strictly as “to-go” style. The tea arrived in paper cups, and they even forgot the tea itself, which was incredibly disappointing. We also ordered fresh-cut fruit, which arrived in a large cooling bag with plastic utensils. The entire presentation felt extremely impersonal and inconsistent with what you would expect from a hotel of this level. When we asked, we were told they’ve changed their room service model so everything is delivered takeaway-style — no tableware, no glass cups, no tablecloths, and no proper dining setup. For a hotel brand positioned as premium, this felt like a major downgrade in the guest experience. It was especially surprising and honestly disappointing to see this in a central location, where guests — including international travelers — would reasonably expect a certain standard of hospitality. Instead, it felt careless and poorly executed. Overall, it completely ruined what was meant to be a romantic, relaxing night. I would not stay here again for that reason. Westin has always been one of my preferred hotel brands, but this experience was very far below expectations.
Our experience with the The Westin Seattle was beyond frustrating and felt intentionally misleading from start to finish. First, if you call the phone number listed on Google, be warned: you are NOT actually speaking to hotel staff. Calls are routed to a third-party reservation center that presents itself as if they are directly affiliated with the hotel. At no point was this made transparent to us. We believed we were speaking with actual Westin employees, only to later discover that critical information about our reservation and fees was either omitted or poorly explained. The biggest shock came when we learned about the so-called “destination fee” — an additional $28 per night plus tax that was never clearly disclosed during booking. Our company had already paid for what we believed were all hotel expenses, so finding out there were surprise mandatory charges attached to the stay was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. To make matters worse, after calling AGAIN to confirm our reservation details ahead of arrival, we arrived at the hotel only to be informed of a mandatory $100 deposit holding fee. This was never disclosed to us during booking or during any of our follow-up confirmation calls. Imagine arriving under the assumption that everything had already been handled, only to be blindsided by yet another unexpected charge at check-in. Things only got worse once we arrived. We specifically booked a room with TWO queen beds for two co-workers, only to be told the hotel was trying to place us in a single king bed room instead. That is completely unacceptable for a reservation that had already been confirmed. We had to argue with hotel staff just to receive the room type we originally booked and paid for in the first place. And if you think arriving early might make the experience smoother, think again — early check-in came with yet another fee: $50. At this point, it genuinely felt like every interaction involved another surprise charge or inconvenience. Another major disappointment was the lack of basic room amenities. There was no microwave or usable refrigerator in the room. Instead, the hotel provides a fully stocked mini-fridge packed with overpriced items, leaving guests with nowhere to store their own food, drinks, or leftovers. For convention travelers and business guests staying multiple days, this felt incredibly inconvenient and out of touch with what most travelers actually need. For a hotel operating under a major brand name, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and disappointing customer service were shocking. Between the misleading third-party reservation system, hidden fees, unexpected deposits, room issues, lack of basic amenities, and constant upcharges, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel for convention attendees, business travelers, or anyone expecting clear communication and professional hospitality. Seattle has far too many hotel options to justify dealing with this level of disorganization and nickel-and-diming.
I was a guest here a couple of weeks ago for a conference; I was there for a week. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is attentive. I had a weird experience of returning to my room to find that the shower gel that had been mounted to the shower wall had been removed. I had already been there for 5 days and wasn't checking out until the following Monday. The food at Relish is very good. I had the Waygu Smash Burger (Twice). 5⭐️. This hotel is very close to the Seattle Convention Center and the Pike Place Market, which I highly recommend. The most problematic issue was the elevators in the North Tower. Each tower has 4 elevators. By Wednesday, only 2 of 4 elevators in the North Towers were working, and it took 15 to 40 minutes for the 2 working elevators to circle back to my floor, with enough room for the rest of us to enter. Even by Sunday, when most of our nearly 900 delegates had checked out, the elevators were still slow.
