The LDR

Inspired by a story as big and bold as Texas, The LDR debuted in 2010 as the newest star in San Antonio. More than a ballroom, Lonesome Dove’s fine Western art and rich furnishings evoke the maverick history and rustic elegance of the landscape that inspired it. On the banks of the River Walk at the Henry B. González Convention Center, this fabulous new venue flows out onto a river patio, seamlessly transforming into an “al fresco” setting ideal for private groups and events from 150 to 500 guests.

Guests are drawn into the warm, ranch-like panache of The LDR, surrounded by an abundance of natural textures…natural stone, wood, and leather. Antler chandeliers and custom-made furnishings abound in this unique, one-of-a-kind room unparalleled in any convention center in the country. The ambience merges the spirit of the Old West with a luxurious and contemporary feel. Rich fabrics, creative lighting, plush furnishings, and flexible seating areas evoke the welcoming living room of a grand Texas ranch house.

The legendary cuisine and gracious service of The RK Group completes the unique experience — inviting guests to indulge in a taste of Texas’ hospitality and warmth. Contact the Booking & Services Team today to schedule a tour of The LDR.
