Don Johnson2 weeks agoEARTHDATE 20260606: I traveled from South Carolina for plans that fell through and needed something to do. I could have chosen many things, but I heard about Gilmore a few years ago and it was on my list of places I would like to visit. The visit was perfect as there was a vintage car show that made the trip worth every penny. The facilities are so peaceful and the cars are very nice. I had a great time!
SunsetC5 months agoThe Gilmore Car Museum is an outstanding destination for Michigan visitors. After having visited a multitude of museums in the United States and internationally, I can confidently declare that The Gilmore Car Museum is one of the largest and most impressive, covering multiple buildings across a vast area. The extensive exhibits necessitated a planned return visit for a thorough exploration.
Jim Workman4 months agoThe Gilmore is a great learning experience. There are cars of every era, most with placards, giving information on the specific vehicle. Most of the cars are pristine, some are unrestored, but all beautiful in their own right. Everything from turn of the century roundabouts, to Dusenburgs, to Vipers. Very well laid out and informative. I would recommend the Gilmore to anyone that loves cars and history.
Austin Barker3 weeks agoWow, we were so impressed. I wasn't sure the museum was going to be worth the somewhat pricey admission ($20 for adults, and $15 for my teens). Well, it was. There were soo many amazing, gorgeous classic cars! I learned so much about the history of cars, especially the versatility of the Model A. I didn't know that the Model A came AFTER the Model T! I just assumed... The arcade racing game (for free!) was a big hit with the kids! We brought a 15 and a 14 year old boy, and even our 4 year old daughter loved it! We got to go for a ride in a classic Cadillac (also included in the price of admission!). We were not able to see everything in three hours, but now we have an excuse to come back. We LOVED the Pierce Arrows! So gorgeous! There were so many cars, too many to list, but the boys liked the Model A display the best. And the muscle car showroom. Downside: eating at the diner for the five of us cost more than the museum admission. $70 for 3 sandwiches and 2 hot dogs, 2 drinks, and 3 ice cream cones was unreasonable. The diner is a nice vintage experience, but the prices were definitely adjusted for inflation, and not in a good direction. Everything else was amazing!
Kelly Reed3 weeks agoOne of the coolest car related places I have ever been. The campus is beautiful. We went with my son's class for a fieldtrip so we didn't eat at the diner, but it was still a great time. We drove, so we got to check him out and leave later than the bus so we were able to take advantage of the free car rides. We will definitely be back.
