TIm Schwartz3 months agoMr. Terrance Walls took very good care of me!!! If you want the whole story this is how it goes. I needed a car rental really bad and I called the Avis 800 number and they said they had a car for me in Kansas City at the Loew's Hotel and I paid for it with my credit card and went to pick it up at 3:00 p.m. the same day, which was last Tuesday, April 21st. When I got down to the hotel around 2:30 p.m., no one was at the desk, but I wasn't in a hurry, so I waited until 3:00 p.m. then I called the phone number and Terrence answered. I explained to him about my situation and he said that he did not have a car for me. He said the things don't always work out or coordinate between the 800 number and the local rental affiliate, but I could hear the concern that he had for me in his voice and that meant a lot to me. What he said was that 3 or so of the cars that were supposed to be returned or extended for another day or so by the renters and that there was another car supposed to be available, but it went under recall from the factory and there was no way they could get me a car! I could have gone through the roof with anger, but I decided to be calm, cool and collected and tried to figure out a way to still get a car. He told me that he would work on it as best as he could. Then I called the person who brought me down there to come and pick me up and also started calling a few colleagues to see if I could ride with them to the conference that I was going to on Wednesday and Thursday south of Wichita. I couldn't really get anyone on the phone and I was very discouraged and ready to give up, go home and just get in bed, by Terrance called back right away and said that he had a car for me and that it was a compact car, and would that be okay for me? I said yes and I couldn't believe it, and He restored my faith in humanity and in Avis!! I would have taken a horse and buggy if it would have gotten me to the place that I needed to go to! Anyway, I was elated and over the moon at that point, so I waited at the desk on the mezzanine level of the lobby of the downtown Kansas City Loews Hotel. Then Terrance came and he got all the paperwork ready and went over everything, and then he walked me down to the car and I asked him a few questions about operating it, since my car is a 2011 Karma and everything is very high-tech now. He listened very well, showed me what I needed to know, cared for me and gave me excellent, helpful, efficient, courteous, exquisite, knowledgeable and professional service!!! He in an outstanding and exceptional employee and I commend him highly for that!! He was absolutely wonderful and went way above and beyond the call of duty!!! Everything went well with the rental car and it ran very well and got me to where I needed to go for my conference and back safely to Kansas city, where I returned the car on Friday at the hotel. I did go up and thank Terrence one more time and told him I would do a review on here. Then I went downstairs to wait for my ride back home and realized that I left my garage door remote in the rental car. So I rushed back to the Avis desk and Terrance was waiting on another customer, but when he finished with that person, he walked me back to the car and I got my remote out of it and thanked him once again!! I am very thankful for Terrance Walls and I highly recommend the Avis car rental at the Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City!!!

chris galvan7 months agoI reserved a car online with online confirmation. Went to pick it up at the time I reserved. The guy started the process and told me they didnt have the car I reserved and that it would be an additional fee. I wasnt very pleased but agreed since I needed the car. Once he started the process he told me I needed the physical Credit card and that Apple pay was not accepted even though I used that card info to reserve online. I then used my debit card and he ran the process once for what seemed to be the wrong amount. He then told me to re-insert my card to charge my card. I asked him why when I could see in my bank account that a $300 amount was already being held. HE said it would bounce back. So I re-inserted and He couldnt figure out how to process the transaction. After like 35 mins of him calling another AVIS location to figure it out he finally did. I could tell his co-worker/supervisor told him to change the rate to my reservation cost since thats what I reserved. Finally after what seemed like 45 min we were able to check the car out but now I had an additional $250 hold from AVIS. It was apparent the rep did not know what he was doing. Obviously the agent did something wrong in the process like I was suggesting to him the whole time. Finally I turned in the car like they instructed 2 days later. I filled up gas and left the parking ticket and Gas receipt in the car like I was told in order to prove that I filled up. Dropped off the car keys in the box. I look at the charge in my bank account 2 days later and it is not what was on my statement. Ive called the branch for 3 days now and nobody picks up. Im am not very happy about that and would not recommend. Seems like AVIS has a reputation of adding secret costs based off of alot of reviews
Joe Hedlund2 months agoI was in need of a Rental on a Friday in Kansas City. All other car rental companies were booked out. I called this location and was given a vehicle immediately. Outstanding customer service.
