Harley Quinzela month agoYoung man on meat seemed to be well seasoned in customer service. Wish I could say the same for the ribs and burnt ends. (Out of brisket) The sides gal was pleasant and helpful. I did see the cashier roll her eyes after helping with a woman that simply wanted to make sure all her carry out items were in the bag. She was pleasant when we came up to register. The Ribs no smoke taste, no seasoning. Burnt end sandwich has "grease gravy" as shown in photos. Fries were "okay", grease soaked also. Potato casserole, was greasy had "okay" flavor. Beans were good and had good flavor. Drinks in the fountain were crisp, if you know, you know. Will definitely not be back.
Jane Lu5 months agoAs a serious BBQ lover, I don’t write negative reviews lightly.After trying Truth BBQ in Houston and being blown away by their brisket — unbelievably juicy, tender, almost melt-in-your-mouth — I came back to Kansas and made the mistake of telling my coworkers that Kansas brisket felt dry in comparison. The reaction? “NO WAY.” I was immediately told I had to try this place. So I did. Order: • Half pound brisket • Half slab ribs • Half order French fries Honestly? I felt extremely disappointed. The brisket was dry. Not “lean cut” dry. Just dry. The ribs were also dry — and here’s the ironic part: when the staff was cutting the ribs into individual pieces, it was so tough that he struggled. He eventually tossed that slab aside and grabbed another one to cut.That moment probably should have been my sign. I genuinely wanted to like it. I walked in hopeful. I love good BBQ. I don’t go in looking to criticize. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe I caught a bad batch. But compared to the depth of smoke, moisture, and richness I experienced in Houston, this fell very short. Still learning to allow myself to make “bad choices” and just laugh about it. But this one hurt a little — especially as a BBQ lover. If you’re reading reviews, I’d suggest focusing on the newest ones. Quality can change over time.
Jerry Weinstock5 months agoThere are a lot of BBQ places in KC. But there is only one Arthur Bryant's on Brooklyn. Its all original and you will not be disappointed. I had the brisket sandwich and it was great. You get it on white bread the way it was designed to come. The half order of fries is probably good enough for 3 to share. I of course ate it all myself. There are fancy places and those that have some better dishes, but this is the bucket list restaurant to hit when you come to KC.
Reigning Fire3 months agoI've been here a lot over the years, and the food has been excellent every single time. Where they have consistently fallen short has been custom service, and general attitude. Expect a "WHATCHU WANT!?... AINT GOT THAT! WHATCHU WANT!?" With that said, our most recent trip here, we were met with smiles and good attitudes. That was a first in over a decade of visiting this location. Truly the best BBQ in Kansas City.
James Shay2 months agoWell was told that I had to try Arthur’s when I got into town. Just being a couple of miles from my work location I decided to try it out. It did not live up to the hype however. The Brisket was dry, cold and paper thin. It was stiff and could have been used as a jerky appetizer somewhere. It did have a nice smoke ring and BBQ taste. I just could not get over the other issues with the brisket. The sides of potato salad and cheesy corn were spot on. If I come back on my next business trip I will be trying something other than the Brisket. Time of day 3:15 - 4:00 5/26/26
