<p>The Utah Museum of Fine Arts Cafe is a pleasurable, educational, and inclusive environment with little to no evenings or weekends, $40,000 annual salaried position with full benefits which include health, retirement (14% employer contribution), and paid time off.  </p> <p>Summary:<br /> The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is located on the campus of the University of Utah and offers visitors the opportunity to explore over 5,000 years of human creativity with a collection of over 20,000 objects and art works from classic Greek and Roman antiquities to cutting-edge, contemporary art. Founded in 1914, the UMFA is the state of Utah’s art museum, creating exhibitions and programs that serve a wide array of audiences. The UMFA is housed in the award-winning Marcia and John Price Museum Building.<br /> The UMFA Café Manager reports directly to the Deputy Director of Finance and Operations and is responsible for the overall business operations of the Museum Café. The manager oversees staffing, training, ordering, food preparation, fiscal management, inventory control and analysis of financial reports.<br /> Utah Food Handler and Serv Safe permits are both required (UMFA will underwrite the cost of these permits). </p> <p>Responsibilities: <br /> · Demonstrate firm adherence to the food service rules and guidelines outlined by the Health Department and its inspectors<br /> · Ensure visible, high levels of cleanliness, organization and personal hygiene<br /> · In depth knowledge of responsibilities related to front of house, barista and kitchen operations<br /> · Hire and train staff<br /> · Complex scheduling, usually involving several class schedules<br /> · Review and approve weekly time and attendance and bimonthly payroll reporting<br /> · Develop and maintain relationships with vendors<br /> · Place weekly orders with vendors<br /> · Maintain inventory levels according to daily business and storage availability<br /> · Create themed entrees and dishes<br /> · Facilitate interactions between and among employees, customers, and management while maintaining a professional environment <br /> · Develop lasting rapport with patrons<br /> · Cooperate with the Museum staff by attending necessary meetings and preparing for upcoming events and exhibitions<br /> · Provide financial oversight to the Café.
