  Guthrie Theater is one of the most iconic cultural spots in Minneapolis, known as much for its architecture as for its performances. The building itself is really striking—modern, bold, and kind of unique compared to typical theaters. It sits right along the Mississippi River and has huge windows and public spaces where you can just walk around and take in the views. One of the coolest features is the “Endless Bridge,” a long cantilevered walkway that sticks out over the river and gives amazing panoramic views. Activate 8% Cash Back Inside, there are three different theater spaces, each with a different layout and feel, so shows can be more intimate or more traditional depending on where you sit. The whole place feels artistic and thoughtfully designed, even if you’re not there for a show.

  We were fortunate enough to have front row seats at the McGuire Proscenium theater for Sleuth. We were worried it would be too close but you are seated far enough back and it was perfect. The play was Amazing!! The whole experience is Beautiful. I suggest getting there a bit early to experience everything. You are allowed to bring in your own water bottles. This play had an intermission and there was enough time to use the restroom and I was the last in line getting some coffee at their bar but still made it back in time. They have snacks(not allowed in the theater) wine, cocktails and you could order your intermission drink ahead of time, I didn't do that and you would have to ask the bartender how to do that. Parking is easy, there are a couple places right across the street. Everyone that works there is so helpful! Great experience!

  Great experience for first visit for 2025 Christmas Carol. Actors/artists were very good. But the audio is not very clear if you don’t have the headset if the artists are speaking dialogues to the opposite side. But else the evening was wonderful.

  10/10 every time we go. Cool place to walk around and every show we've seen over the years has been phenomenal. We saw Sleuth and from the acting to the stage lighting, we were blown away yet again.

  It's hard to think of a better place to see a show. The ushers and staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Food and beverage options are always tasty and feel like a treat. The building is an attraction in and of itself. Its unique design is not intuitive and probably not like any other building you've been in. But you are probably there with many other theater goers and it's easy to follow the flow of foot traffic. And the upside for that unique design is that the building is just fun to be in, to walk through, and to explore. And I haven't even mentioned the performances. I've seen many shows here. Big loud ensemble musicals, dramas and comedies, old classics and modern takes, and small-cast murder mysteries. Not everyone of them can be my favorite. And not every style and genre can be my "cup of tea." But the performances are always engaging and the production is always excellent. Like I said, it's hard to think of a better place to see a show.
