The hotel seems like it’s been around for a while. It seems like an older hotel. Our suite was nice and big. I liked having two separate bathrooms and a door for the bedrooms. Also liked having the two different balconies. The halls and the carpet in the room also had a weird smell to it like it hadn’t been cleaned that thoroughly in a long time. Where I experienced problems was the knowledge and availability of hotel staff. It seemed like no one could tell me whether or not my one year old son would be eligible for free breakfast. I also needed something from the lobby in the evening and not a soul was in sight at the desk. I had to call just to get the manager to come out of their office. Looking past that, the one night stay was nice. The pool area is really nice and the surrounding area has a lot to offer in terms of things to, views, and places to eat and shop. Oh, also, if you get a drink from the bar, just know that it will come with 19% gratuity for even a single item. I paid $19 for an Old Fashioned.

Wow, that's was probably the best stay at InterContinental that I had so far! As a Diamond member I got suite upgrade with separate living room and bedroom, both had balconies looking at the different sites. And on top of that I got club lounge access with amazing host guy working there. His service was top notch and he gave few advices where to go in the evening. Hotel is very conveniently located, you just need to walk over the small bridge and you are in the area full of restaurants and life! There was one weird moment that stands out of otherwise ideal stay. Upon arrival and checking in, I decided to get lunch in their restaurant. Another person and me were the only people eating in the restaurant that moment when waitress decided to clean it up and used a loud cleaning machine while I was eating. However, I returned to the restaurant and bar later in the evening, it was totally different crew there and everything was perfect! I definitely recommend this hotel. P.S. they do have large outdoor pool, but I didn't have time to try it

If i could give zero I genuinely would. The front desk lady gave no insight on our charcuterie board we requested upon arrival or where to go when we checked in. She gave us our keys and expected us to do the rest, not even a hello. The pull out couch was so dirty with stains and very uncomfortable. There wasn’t even a mattress in the couch it was a literal brick bed and we would have kicked metal while we slept if we didn’t contact the front desk. They delivered the mattress to our hotel room and two girls walked in about 4 hours after we had made a complaint? The hairdryer was hidden in the closet, and how we found out was genuinely horrid. When I asked if they had one in the room she immediately cut me off and said “did you even look in the closet”with a very rude and disrespectful attitude. Very unclean there was a ton of hair in the bathtub and gum all over the balcony, there was no microwave and when we called to ask where it was because we had read the check in guide and it said upon request me may get one and she lied about having any at all and suggested that we walked to the FITNESS center to go and microwave our food. The broken fridge that keeps absolutely nothing cold even when you turn it on high, not worth the expensive price tag an all inclusive is literally cheaper. Keep a note that the bar closes at 5pm so no drinks after five which is way too early at the pool, a Holiday Inn is more clean and more prepared for guests then these incompetent staff. I have never written a more horrible review about a hotel until now.

As a first timer to the area I was pleasantly surprised how centrally located this hotel is. It's literal steps away from Country Club Plaza and a 10-15 minute drive to downtown and so many attractions. Before arrival I experienced 24hrs of flight delays which caused me to arrive at 4am instead of noon like a planned. I'd been speaking to the manager all day since my flight was first delayed and even though the late check-in policy is 3am the manager waited for me beyond her shift. She even offered a complimentary drink ticket because it was officially my birthday. As a type A planner who despises being late her demeanor and kindness melted away the stresses of the day and I was overwhelmingly grateful. Every room has a balcony, fluffy white robes and most comfortable beds! The only note I would leave is that they should do some deep cleaning of their carpets and housecleaning only gave me new towels but did not make my bed once even though I was there for 3 days. The lobby area is beautiful and spacious, complete with a baby grand piano and fireplace. I had their buffet style breakfast with the BEST biscuits I've ever had in my life!! I had to ask the waitress about the chef who I learned was from the South, which I can appreciate. For dinner I had their Shrimp Arancini, KC Strip Steak and their chocolate torte which were all phenomenal. The bartenders also made the most delicious mocktails for me and their vibe and energy were so welcoming. Overall this was a great stay, I ran into to some amazing people and this location for a conference/birthday celebration was perfect.

Stayed at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza on Monday night for a little KC getaway and had a great experience. The location is hard to beat — right on the Plaza with so many restaurants, shops, and things to do nearby. The hotel was clean, upscale, and comfortable, and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious with an amazing view, and the beds were incredibly comfortable after a long night out. Perfect place for a date night or concert trip to Kansas City. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in town!
