The Embassy Suites by Hilton Salt Lake/West Valley City is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager to join our operations team. This role requires knowledge of business leadership etiquette, principles and practices. This candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Effective communication includes the ability to handle team member and guests' issues with finesse and professionalism. Requires ability to relate and interact with people in a warm, friendly and professional manner. Proficient in computer skills, composition of letters and reports, and a keen attention to detail. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently. Hilton OnQ certification is preferred. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Sales and Marketing: Be active in the hotel's sales effort. Ensure hotel staff is knowledgeable about incoming groups and new accounts. Communicate with the Director of Sales to be informed of recent developments and upcoming events. Financial: Understand hotel budget and ensure operating costs and labor costs are appropriate based on business demands. Ensure hotel staff is trained in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories and receivables and that these procedures are regularly followed. Knows the hotel's demand segments and sources of business for each. Assist the General Manager with City ledger management for all accounts receivable. Human Resources: Assist the General Manager with recruiting, selection, orientation, training and performance evaluations. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Ensures all hotel employees know hotel objectives. Ensures employees understand policies, pay procedures, bonus plans and benefits. Ensures payroll is reviewed daily and processed timely for the General Managers approval.
