DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis - Park Place

  The staff member who helped me get a room and sign up for free with the Hilton honors membership was very kind. He greeted me with a smile as I walked in and as a warm welcome and a "We're so glad you chose to stay with us", I was given a cookie! No hotel has ever done that for me before. Thank you. The rooms are very quiet and peaceful. I appreciate the ability to open a window for fresh air. The spa is very nice and when I got to the pool area the gal told me it had been deep cleaned today and no one had been in it yet. The main pool starts at 3 feet and goes to 5. For the price of this place for a room stay of 1 night, it was a bit disappointing that it wasn't very big for someone who enjoys swimming laps. But that's okay, it was clean and the temperature was perfect. Access to a 24-hr gym with some equipment for weight lifting is also an added bonus. My only 2 complaints are that the in-room dining menu to get anything to eat is kinda spendy and the king bed I was given is very stiff. Not super comfortable. Feels like an older mattress style with springs. Oh well.

  Great location, but this hotel is at least 40 years old. Unfortunately the digital key I received did not work. It is aggravating when you lug your luggage up to your room, the key doesn’t work, and then you have to carry everything back to the lobby. The desk is small and has to share surface space with the coffeemaker, microwave and lamp (see photo). Decent fitness center. The day I was there, the LiveTV on none of the treadmills worked. My room was nice, comfortable bed and a nice TV. I think the Doubletree has been standing still for many years and all of the newer Hilton properties have passed it by. I would stay here again if it had a killer rate.

  A couple things… room was not ready at 3pm ( no discount) so we were not able to change before our function. Checked after our function. In the morning at 8 am the housekeeper knocked to clean our room before we had even checked out, you cannot cool the room down during winter months the have a sign telling you to crack the window, so if you enjoy a cool sleep, good luck, they do have a fan available. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

  Located very conveniently to a grocery store and multiple restaurants. Is perfectly situated for my business trips. Nice hot tub and workout room

  This room was in really rough shape and not up to quality standards of a Hilton. The entire room was in need of repairs but especially the bathroom which was not only dirty but moldy and with rusty metal as well. The picture shows how nasty it was. Checking in clearly was an inconvenience for the person working the front desk as well.
