  My wife and I had an excellent stay. The staff was courteous throughout the property. Room was spacious and clean. Large bathroom. Large windows to allow in natural light and a great view of the baseball stadium. Secure parking garage with many spots available and spacious for an SUV or truck. The gym was good. The pool was clean and comfortable. The whirlpool jacuzzi hot tub was the perfect temperature to make you want to get out after 15 minutes or so.

  There is a serious elevator capacity problem at this hotel. I kept track one of the days I was here and found I spent over 20 total minutes waiting on elevators throughout the day. The rooms are great and it’s in a decent location to get around - but the elevator situation would probably make me think twice about booking again. I’d only recommend staying if you don’t have any particular place to be - ever - and/or can be put on a floor where you’re comfortable walking up/down to it directly.

  My wife and I were a bit disappointed in this Marriott after have an excellent stay at Marriott Kingston. I was entered into a triathlon and we decided to stay overnight. I needed to leave at 6 am but breakfast was not available until 7 am on weekends. I understand people sleep in on weekends but it didn't work out for us so we went to McDonald's. The reception area was well staffed for fast check-in but we found the hotel lobby was a bit dirty. The carpet was very dirty and didn't look like it had been vacuumed recently. The tile floor looked dirty too. The outside of the hotel was poorly maintained. The concrete curbing had been damaged and not repaired. The planters had dead plants and had no maintenance - the Tulip Festival was in full force but not a flower to be found here. We also found the hallways to the rooms to be very dark. Our room was clean and had many amenities (coffee maker, microwave, big TV, etc.) but the only USB port in the entire room did not work. Luckily I brought a cord to charge my phone with an adapter. The heat was difficult to adjust and when I did adjust it seemed to not work - the same 23.5 degree heat continued all night, a bit warm for sleeping. Overall, our first impression of the hotel was not good (and dirty). The room was fine but we will not likely stay here again, the Hampton Inn next door is much better and provides a free breakfast at 6 am, for guests only, I checked.

  Came here to celebrate my best friend’s engagement. The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our room had a wonderful view and the hotel staff were excellent. I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties and I would say this one exceeded my expectations by far. Thank you to Elise and Neha especially! You were wonderful in helping make my stay feel extra special and I’ll definitely be returning the next time I visit Ottawa.

  I don’t know if it’s just really bad luck or mismanagement across the board. Had to repeatedly clarify our rate over the phone when booking and that we were not part of the minor league hockey teams staying there. Only to still have to clarify this when checking in at front desk. Had to asked if we could get our room on same floor as the rest of our conference we had booked under. Had to walk 9 flights up the stairs because of an elevator issue that lasted well over an hour around 9pm on a Friday. The staff member overseeing the pool area said: “not my job to clean up” when a kid vomitted on the tile next to the pool. So the vomit stayed there for a while and the ‘fix’ to avoid people walking in it was to put chairs over top. Meanwhile there is nowhere else to sit. We didn’t stick around to find out how that ended as 15 kids continued to play in and around the pool. The fun doesn’t stop there. The Bistro restaurant service was slow both for the evening crowd and for the morning. Although polite, the wait staff was clearly not experienced neither in surveilling for potential client needs, nor clearing the tables in a timely fashion nor looking out for swiftly bringing the bill when the table is finished. Our evening waiter was more astute I’ll say that. Despite going down to breakfast at 8am, waiting 20 minutes to be acknowledged for being there at an empty table, I still wasn’t able to get out of there before 9:15am and missed the beginning of the conference because I couldn’t either find the waitress or catch her attention to pay for another 20 minutes. Then that same waitress had the nerve to say 3 times ‘Thank you VERY much’ in a condescending tone when I only tipped 15%. Seriously girl: it was a buffet, you didn’t so much as bring me coffee nor clear my table. Terrible service. I’ll say this: the room was clean and bright. In-room amenities are great with small fridge where you have space to store leftovers from dinner. No way to adjust temperature which was running slightly hot. Overall, 3 stars. I’m being generous. The vomit thing was enough for zero stars. Let alone the lack of signage telling people that 2 of 3 elevators were compromised for an undetermined amount of time. Very bad first impression on a first stay here. Would I come back? Unlikely. Not at this venue unless work/job commanded it.
