Cameron Bonneville2 weeks agoWe had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary here. The staff were super friendly and helpful; they were also more than happy to take pictures of us when we asked no matter the time of day. I missed the name of the woman who checked us in and out, but I remember we were also helped by Daniel and Patrick. We got a double queen bed room that was poolside and came with a couch. The nightly cookies and milk at 10pm were a delicious treat.
Megan Erdman3 weeks agoUnless you’re desperate and have no other options, you can go ahead and skip The Normandy. Everything about our experience was bad. They messed up our reservation, and my wife spent an hour going around with them getting it straightened out. Then our car got broken into in their supposedly secured paid parking lot. The fridge in our room was broken, and housekeeping never stopped by, meaning we used the same towels our entire stay. The front desk staff were jerks who were super short with us, and didn’t meet Best Western standards (we know because my wife works at a Best Western), so we were never able to have the fridge or towels addressed. To top it all off, there is no continental breakfast, instead they rely on a restaurant on property that is incredibly overpriced. The only good thing about the Normandy is its downtown location, near lots of city attractions. As I said, it should be a skip. If our room hadn’t been non refundable, we would have packed up, and stayed elsewhere.
hugh jass3 months agoMy friends and I stayed here for a night and we had the best time ever! All the staff was so sweet and helpful. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed, pool room and hot tub were amazing. All around a very nice place and we will be staying here when we’re in downtown Minneapolis!
Emi Morrison6 months agoMy husband and I stayed here for a little weekend getaway. The rooms were spacious and overlooked the pool area. The hotel is historic but updated—it keeps its charm without feeling too "old." (Although the rooms could benefit with replacing the carpeting) It felt classy the entire time we were there, and people seemed to really enjoy gathering around the fireplace in the lobby. They have coffee and water in the lobby, but I think my favorite thing was the water pitcher provided in the room. There are water machines in the hallways, which is the most eco-friendly thing I’ve ever seen at a hotel, especially in a downtown area. Also, the hot tub was the perfect temperature for relaxing!
Laura Winarskea month agoCharming interior and great staff. So friendly! One downside was not being able to adjust the conditioning unit in the room. No fan noise for those who sleep with white noise. The milk and cookies were appreciated by our group. Great location close to all the big venues!
