Pleasantly surprised! I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews but it is a great place to stay. We had the room right next to the customer service desk on the ground floor. It was large, clean, the A/C worked great and the bed was big and comfy. Bathroom had great water pressure and had a nice hot shower. Price was amazing and it is right across the street from a newly built tram stop to conveniently explore Seattle. Glad we decided to stay here after all. Don’t let the “vintage” appearance from the outside deter you. Very pleased.
In my opinion, this hotel does not deserve a three-star rating. The hallways were not very clean and did not appear to be vacuumed regularly. The room was fairly basic, but the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The breakfast was very disappointing, with very limited options available, and the breakfast area was not a pleasant place to eat. My child was not happy with the experience at all.
Upon checking in and starting to settle down we noticed a human toe nail next to the bed. It did not belong to me or my husband. Then as I picked up the phone I see a pubic hair or rather a short and curly on the phone charging box. The girl at the front desk offered to move us but wouldn’t bring the keys to us. I would not have been too bothered other than we were already in the furthest building from the lobby. We will definitely not be staying here again. Hall carpets are filthy and definitely not vacuumed. The entire hallway reeks of cigarette smoke. And it didn’t upon check in. UPDATE: Here is an edit I a more than happy to make. After speaking with the manager this morning, she was willing to relocate us as well as his housekeeping do a once over on the room before we are relocated. She was very apologetic for what was found in our room. And her customer service was top-notch. Because of the morning staff, I will be giving Red lion another chance.
No frills, hotel. Bae budget option for the night. Pros: No bugs No weird smells Strong AC / Heat with updated thermostat Strong water pressure Hot, hot water Cleanish beds. Mine smelt like the sheets might not have been washed No visible long term residents Felt safe enough Quiet inside the hotel, no loud talking in hallways or slamming doors Front desk was nice and gave us a few options for rooms, ground floor, second floor, etc.. Cons: Dated and delaptiated features (peeling wallpaper, dated furniture) The pool is not heated Some cleaning could have improvements, our room was not vacuumed, but all the basics were met The highway is loud (we play white noise regardless) Would not stay again only because we have want a heated poo and kidsl, but it didn't traumatize us. Didn't feel like Bellevue though.
This is literally the second negative review I have written in my entire life. I booked this hotel for two nights, July 7-9th, knowing we had a red eye flight and would need the hotel earlier than check in on the 8th. Arrived at the hotel and was informed that I was marked a no show and my room was cancelled for both nights but I was still charged the full amount. So I arrived before check in even begun on the 8th, was denied a room that evening and still was charged both nights, plus I was informed there is a no show fee which I guess I will see pop up soon. How is that legal? Insanely rude staff, super frustrating, terrible customer service. The hotel also looked way more run down than the pictures online. I was disappointed even pulling into the place before I even found out I was being charged 355 dollars without stepping foot in my room and having to find and pay for other hotel arrangements that night after traveling all night long. Take your business elsewhere, to people who don't double dip and screw people over. I wish I had read more reviews from the last year. I'm sure management will come and comment about it being their policy- just because it's your policy doesn't mean it's fair or right. Don't bother commenting unless you want to talk about a refund-at least for the second night! Response to the owner: If you already had my money from the start for the entire stay why would I think I would have to call ahead? But I'll meet you in the middle there and say I accept a policy about calling ahead. Okay cancel my room but REGARDLESS that still does not make it fair to charge the whole stay. I should absolutely be refunded that second night. The only reason I should have been denied a room was if you were fully booked which means you were already getting business for the room I had booked and kept my money as well. Not fair, not right. It's not acceptable and I don't see any way you could spin that as good business practice.
