Jennifer Leffela month agoRecently have seen a lot of posts about this local maker’s shop so I had to stop in. 🤩 Over 100 artists works in this shop. So much to see and they even have some vintage items in their basement area. The shop staff were so sweet 🥰felt very welcome and inviting inside. You can find a little something for everyone in here. Purchased some early holiday gifts and definitely will return again soon!
DogWaterChamp6 months agoThis is one of the few places where you can walk in and immediately tell the difference between actual art and the mass-produced “handmade-looking” stuff that’s taken over a lot of boutique shops lately. This is the real deal—smartly curated work from Ohio artists who clearly have a point of view. What stood out to me most is the curation. Nothing feels random or filler. Every piece feels chosen, not stocked. You can find smaller, affordable items without the place feeling cheap, and higher-end work without it feeling pretentious. Beth was there when I visited and was genuinely pleasant and grounded—no forced retail cheer, just someone who knows the work and believes in it. If you care about supporting local artists and you care about quality, FunktiniLand is absolutely worth your time.

Whether you are a customer looking to buy something fun and unique gift for somebody or just for yourself, or if you’re an artist vendor looking for a supportive place to sell your creations, definitely check out FunktiniLand! The owners Beth and Jo are super great. As a customer, you don’t get any weird pressure to buy or get watched like a hawk. They are simply there to be a source of help if you need it (believe me, there is SO much in there that you sometimes miss stuff so asking them for help if you have something specific you’re looking for can be immensely useful!) As an artist, Beth is one of the best supportive resource person you can find. She’s honest and very helpful if you’re struggling with any aspect of your business/craft. As an artist at the beginning of my career and very new to the idea of selling my creations, it’s so nice to have someone available to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. She really lets the artists have creative range and control and there’s never any pressure, which is so immensely helpful for me! Talking to her feels like talking to my sister or BFF! I have experience as both a customer and an artist vendor and I love the store and Beth & Jo! I love what they do for the city of Lakewood and what they do for the artist community at large. You can’t go wrong shopping there and supporting local! 💕

Meghan McCarthy6 months agoWe love Funktiland, run by a dynamic mother daughter duo. They support and showcase over 100 local artists, which is so important for folks who live and work in our communities. They have a large selection of items, in a wide range of prices. I’ve gotten holiday gifts, birthday presents, hosting gifts and maybe a treat or four for myself. Don’t sleep on the basement either. They have a treasure trove of antiques down there.
