Rooms were good and it was big with two queen bed and sofa within extended stay style kitchen. They served breakfast which was ok and not bad at all. Gym was good and well Maintained and have swimming pool but I did not used it. This is the first hotel I ever stayed which was shared by two brands Home2 Suites and Hilton Garden. It is highly secured because of the neighborhood. I would not walk alone around this neighborhood.
Staff very friendly, clean comfortable room. Decent breakfast included. I was prepared to award the hotel 4.5 stars, but then I noticed that they use #4 robertson head screws in the circuit box. That bumps them up to 4.95stars, well done.
I don't know where to start. Room was booked with a group but paying separately and I'm a Diamond member. The Assistant Manager (as listed on the name tag) said my Honors number was added but may not receive points. I understand at times that may happen, however my Honors number never was attached. I noticed this by logging into the app and my stay wasn't showing. Everyone I asked (2 different reception representatives and Honor outsourced telephone number) did not take ownership of the problem. They all passed it to the next person, even when I went back to the desk at 3pm per their instructions, the Manager "was not on the property and won't be back until the next day". So what happens when something goes down in a hotel with eight floors? Very strange being a customer facing Manager myself, that no one was available in the early afternoon. In addition some room amenities (soap, tissues) weren't fully stocked for a multi day stay and there was food left in the refrigerator from a previous guest! I didn't even get a chance to explain that to them after being told by three people they couldn't assist me at all. Now I have to continue to deal with this, aa now they will have to credit charges that are normally free with Diamond status that would've been taken care had someone stepped up, took ownership of the problem, and solved the issue. I never remember having this situation occur at other Hilton branded propeties until now. I noticed at the front desk there are no business cards (for the various Managers and Supervisors) and no listing of the peoperty owner/investor (I found it looking at public records DHC). Adding insult to injury in the morning the housekeeping staff let's the doors slam on the lock, versus using a door wedge in order to minimize any noise/disturbance. I will not be returning to this location. Infuriating.
I had a great experience at this home2 suites, it seems they are new because both the facility and the rooms were very clean and modern. I only spent one night but staff were super friendly although they forgot to recognize my status or to give me the welcome gift as a Hilton Honor but I forgive them, we had a good conversation lol. Location was great, right in downtown. Unfortunately not much going on around, at least the day we went the city was dead. Only negative observation was the breakfast hours. 6am-9am its kinda early to ends breakfast, usually it finish by 10 or 1030 but 9am it definitely pretty early, specially for those that likes to stay in bed longer. Other than this very nice stay.
Parking garage is not very easy to find. No clear signage that I could tell. Key cards don't actually open the gate. Its the city's problem according to the hotel. Not sure what the benefit of paying $20 a day for parking in any case. When you do find it - sky walk is on the 2nd floor. Digital key apparently doesn't work on the elevator. So be prepared to lose that honors member convienence of online check-in. They won't let food delivery deliver straight to your room so - be prepared to walk to the Hilton garden inn in the same building to grab it because no one can seem to figure out where the Home2 suites actually is. Staff didn't impress by waiting 5 hours to answer a chat via the app, well beyond "a few minutes" as promised by the app. They never answered my text despite "text us anytime" being sent on my first night. So won't even try that again. Lastly, the door catch on my door was broken. Didn't make me feel super secure, but kinda afraid they would've put someone more vulnerable in this room had i complained. All in all. Worst Home2 I've stayed in, I'll definitely still consider the brand, but can't wait to leave this location tomorrow.
