What an exceptional college this is! We were here this evening for the induction ceremony for the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame, celebrating the daughter of close friends who was being honored. This campus has played an important role throughout my educational and professional journey. I completed my first year of college here before continuing on to the University of Akron and later the University of Toledo, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Every credit transferred seamlessly, even many years ago. I later returned to earn my Associate Degree in Nursing, and years afterward came back once again to teach in the nursing lab after completing my RN to MSN. This college has been a meaningful part of my life for many years, and I continue to have great respect and appreciation for the education, opportunities, and community it provides.
LCCC has changed my life for the better! It’s a great place to launch any career. I was able to achieve multiple degrees without going into student loan debt. I wouldn’t be where I am today without LCCC.
Cons: Expensive community College. Staff can be a buy on the rude side. Curriculum needs to adhere to all ranges of humans. If you have a mental disorder and do not want to work in a group they require you to get a note from a doctor. Even then the teachers don't care and will mark your grade for not working in a group. The majority of the students act entitled and lazy. So the students who actually want to learn end up the ones who carry the load of the group. I've talked to several students who have had this issue. Make sure you don't park where you are not supposed to. I seen a security guard watch a lady park in the loading zone and and as soon as she left the car he gave her a ticket. She was in the building maybe 3 minutes. Pros: It is a beautiful campus, they do help students pay for schooling with recommendations on how to. They give you a discount on classes if you work there. Lots of parking. Lots of different kinds of classes.
Lorain County Community College is an excellent school for someone who wants affordable tuition and guidance on what to major in. The University Partnership is especially great, since tuition is essentially half-off. This college has helped me find my purpose and I would recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful sprawling campus. Large central Student Center with a Starbucks, bookstore and many other choices for food. Business and entrepreneurship building, culinary arts, theater, art gallery. Hands-On Innovation Center that partners with many community businesses. Free parking.
